Hello FPN!

I Found this pen on a train (Britfag) on the way back from college, and when i found it i knew the brand (Sheaffer), but i cant find anything about the actual model of the pen any were. It is a fountain pen, but one that you need an ink pot with. I am very intrigued for some of the pens go for thousands were some only 10-20 pounds.

Any suggestions on what to do, or what it may be worth?

Pictures related.

It looks to be a Sheaffer Targa, and I believe one of the "Slim" models (judging by the ratio of the size of the clip to the size of the barrel). You would probably be able to identify it by going to SheafferTarga. Look under the "Reference" menu item at the very left.

It is in fact a Sheaffer Model: 1002s Matte black 1st Edition- Slimline

I was given a Targa 1005 gold plated fluted barrel found abandoned in an desk drawer. I cleaned it up and inked it up and now it's replaced my trusty Prelude in my pen rotation. These are really good nibs even in steel. I'd ink it up and use it.

Hey Ruat!

Welcome to our addiction. Your entry price is free, but beware, once you're hooked it gets increasingly expensive. I'm sure you'll love your new find!

Cheers,
