Muji - 2 Drawers Acrylic Box

Recommended Posts

I find in a Muji shop an acrylic box to store my pens. 1, 2 and 5 drawers are available.

Different kinds of separators are sold separately.

The box is a little bit too big, but it does the job.

2 drawers acrylic box : 17.25 €

Separator : 9.75 €

I'm a fan of Muji stuff. I bought a 2-drawer and a 3-drawer one at different times, and use mine to keep washi tape and other small bits and pieces. This way, I have them on display and, more importantly, I remember both that I have them and where I have them. I've kicked myself before for not adding ribbon to something because either I'd forgotten I had any or couldn't find it.

Top to bottom:

  • washi tape, star cutter (not shown: Rilakkuma sellotape, lime ribbon)
  • postcards for notes
  • dip pen holders, Pilot Parallel cartridges (not shown: pencils and leads, italic felt markers in black, gold and silver, sparkly melon gel pen)
  • cute stickers and post-it notes, including the beautiful Leaf-it notes (too pretty to use, so don't know how they fare with different inks)
  • blank cards for birthdays etc.

My pens, unlike yours, don't get special treatment. They're currently in a tray on the floor!

Bienvenue à FPN!

Muji is "out of stock" on most of these, are there any sources of similar product that anyone knows about?

The one I bought is the "Acrylic Case 2 Drawers with lid - Large" which seems to be available on Muji US: http://www.muji.us/store/storage/acrylic-cases/acrylic-case-2-drawers-with-lid-large.html ; http://www.muji.us/store/storage/acrylic-cases/velour-inner-accessories-tray-divide.html

There is a Muji shop near me on the high street in Birmingham, I have seen these quite often but always wondered what I'd use them for... having seen your set up I might have to part with some money!

This from th Container Store should work for most pens.

If its the same as the one I got, I can get 2 layers of 6 pens in each drawer. I have 2 pens that are just a little too long to fit in.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
