Something Sad On Ebay

I'd report the seller for selling counterfeits or knockoffs and having a misleading entry. Reporting these kinds of people helps keep eBay safe (or at least, safer) since it's not like eBay CS people have the time or know enough to spot a fake listing without being directed to it.

I have found that notifying sellers that they have their description wrong gets different reponses, that can go 1. Many thanks, I will amend it. It gets amended.2. Many thanks, I will amend it. It does not get amended.3. WHATS IT GOT TO DO WITH YOU. KEEP YER F@IN NOSE OUT. Those I just might report.

I've found pretty much the same set of responses. In this case, since the seller was wise enough to cover themselves by using the word "style" I'll guess that they know exactly what they are doing and have made sure every word in their ad fits within the rules.

Umm...Where'm I Goin' ?

I bought an Arnold awhile back that was listed as being restored and was "on sale" for $30 + shipping. The pen is okay, the nib a bit scratchy, but it works. Not, IMO worth the price; and doesn't even have an Arnold nib, AFAIK -- my other two Arnolds have nibs that say "Arnold" (this one says "Veri Smooth". And before the pen was even shipped it was "re-listed" at the *original* price of $99.99.

Contacted the seller, since he sort of sat on his butt about about shipping to begin with, and got told "oh, it's just like yours..." (Really? Especially since he more or less admitted he was too lazy or cheap to do separate photos for each pen?) The second pen (not mine) has dropped to $49.99, then gone back up to the original price, then dropped to $34, then back again (I think it's back up to $100 again at the moment). when I contacted the guy (I was worried that the pen was a bait and switch tactic) I pointed out that he'd probably be very hard pressed to sell a 3rd tier pen for his full asking price, and I may have paid too much at $30.... And got, basically, blown off, other than to ask if I was interesting in buying the other pen (yeah, right -- see the vapor trails you look for a lot do ya, buddy?). (A lot of his other listings looked similar -- what I would describe as Jo-Ann Fabrics, where the prices are artificially inflated so the "sale" price can look good, percentage-wise)..

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
