Thanks for the review and the pics Shrey. Sounds like a solid pen and hopefully they've solved cracking issues.

 

On the subject of posting we all have to remember that TWSBI's never posted well to begin with because of the heavy cap; the cap on a 540 weighs almost as much of the pen. The cap comes in at more than 15 grams, and the mini with the screw on post was a little unorthodox, although I think it posted well.

 

As a poster I wouldn't be afraid of using this pen - although as mentioned if you want mass appeal - it would have been nice.

 

I'm just hoping the pen stands up to the cracking reported on the 540, less with the 580, a few with the minis and hardly any with the Vac.

Does anyone know if the nib units are for sale separately? Are they the same units as for the 580/Mini?

No news on the nibs. I have a 540 as well. The nib is the next size up on that. I did try swapping them, but didn't fit.

Thanks for the review of the TWSBI Classic. I do like my 540's and my 580. But seeing your review, made me want one of these. Since your review and the time I ordered it, they came up with a version you can post. The cap does post securely, but the end cap has 2 grooves in it with 2 o-rings in them. So if the cap turns, so does the filling mechanisim. It is not a big deal for me, just putting that out there. You will also be able to order a new end cap only for a pen already purchased, according to the TWSBI Facebook page.
