Pen Cap Too Tight

kamel

Recommended Posts

Hi All - I just picked up a Visconti pen on eBay that originally was made for a stationers in New York. The cap is so tight I'm afraid of cracking it just by screwing it back on. Is thee a simple fix to lossen it? It's an acrylic cap with a metal band at the base.

This was made for the Rebecca Moss store. The picture of the pen is below.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Which model Visconti? Is it a regular screw thread?

Ah the Rebecca Moss by Visconti Millennium Limited Edition Fountain Pen.

Very nice looking pen! Most threaded pens have triple start threads. You might try turning the cap backwards till it clicks into the next set of threads and see if it is any better. I haven't experienced this with a Visconti. A TWSBI I bought had threads that were too tight and I just keep working the cap on and off as far as I was comfortable until it finally loosened up enough.

You may have to send it to Visconti for repairs. The US repair site is Coles of London in North Carolina. Here is their repair policy.

I did try that. As it so happens I bought another that is identical to that one except it's black. The cap will not fit on it at all. Something in the threads on the cap is not right. I lookked at it with a loupe and can't see any signs of cross threading.

Thanks for the link! I'll get in touch with them.
