My OBB 146 arrived today.

Beautiful, smooth nib. Nice line variation.

Everything I hoped for.

Congrats!

Show us some writing samples when you have a chance.

Awesome feedback from you guys, this network is the best for Fountain Pen addicts, like me.

I just sent my new purchase (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) to get a BB nib. I'm looking forward to spend a looooong time with it once it comes back from Germany.

Cheers fellow pen friends.

thanks! to be honest, it's a nib i still have to get used to, and i've been sorely tempted to commit sacrilege and stub it to a BB like my go-to agatha, but of course common sense tells me to keep it as it is, there not being too many of these around...

Absolutely! I find hen's teeth more often than OBBs.

Obliques are like the camel's left knee. Too much thought impedes progress.

Let the nib rest on the paper so it's on the sweet spot. Light grasp so it's moving under it's own weight, then write quickly. Let your hand feel the flow, but don't pay a lot of attention otherwise. It should float on the ink. Use your wettest ink and don't worry about control or shading or fitting between the lines until your muscle memory has the feel of it.

Chopped dates or tart cherries? Thinking of adding walnuts to the batch.

Dates for sure. I am ok with adding walnuts to dates, but let's not see any chocolate in there. If you are taking requests I like oatmeal rasin, but could live happuly with oatmeal/date/walnut.

I also like a dried strawberries and walnuts combo, but not in a cookie.

Ahh, that raises the old family debate regarding oatmeal raisin... cinnamon and nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom, or all three?

I took your advice to let it "float on the ink" and immediately felt better. The OBB stays, ha ha ;) You're right, it would be a shame to let the rarity of this box go to waste.

Oatmeal tastes "healthy", nasty.

Congee for breakfast. Guangdong style with dried scallop, mushroom and pork liver...

Many thanks to Ghost Plane and Tom K for the conversion! I eagerly await the return of my 149 with an O3B!

Apologies for both the poor photography and penmanship.
