Ok I'll start another PIF too. I'm giving away the following 4 pens that have been ground by me to non-standard nibs. They are pretty cheap pens so I use these regularly to test new grindings and such stuff, thus I have quite a few of these with interesting writing characteristics.

The orange and green ones got matching colored feeds. So you can see a dark ink travel inside very nicely. It's quite a cool effect.

You can enter for multiple pens, but you can only win one of them. I will draw the winner on Sunday next week (2. Nov).

Open worldwide, some cartridges are included so you can start instantly once it arrives.

My Pens/Nibs (inked/active): Lamy Studio/Vista/Joy (XXF slight-flex custom | 14k EF | EF | F | 14k M | M | B | 14k 1.1 custom | 1.1 | 1.5 | 1.9), TWSBI Diamond 580 (F | Pendleton BadBoy | Zebra G | F.P.R. semi-flex), Pilot Falcon EF, Penkala Vintage 14k semi-flex, Pilot Parallel (2.4 | 3.8 | 6.0)

http://www.fp-ink.info/img/button.pngI'm still looking for help/data/supporters/sponsors for my Ink Database - It already contains over 900 Inks but is still low on data about the inks except on the Inks I got myself or where I found nice data sheets. So Im looking for these: InkSamples mailed to me, Permissions to use InkReviews - preferable by people who have a lot of InkReviews online, InkReviews mailed to me so I can scan them, Sponsors that will help me to finance InkSamples, People willing to trade InkSamples (list of available Inks from me is available via PM request - please include available Inks)

A public thank you to bardiir for the gift of nib-smoothing sheets. The envelope containing them actually arrived late last week, but I have been fairly busy... I have not used them yet but think I will soon, and I expect that some of my favorite pens will become even more favored because I will have smoothed their nibs to my exact preference... I'm very much looking forward to it. Thanks again!

I'd also lik to thank Bardiir for the smoothing sheets :) I have received them a while back, but actually forgot about them for a while due to being busy. I love them though! :)

Gratz to all the PIF winners :)

Okay Mabie-Todd fans, this is your lucky day.

I have recently come into possession of the authoritative work on the Mabie-Todd firm Mabie in America, 3rd Edition by David L. Mouk.

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e341/Jack_Breeding/mabie_zps92568732.jpg

This book is out of print so I'd like this to go to someone who'd truly enjoy it.

It's exactly the sort of book that I love, richly illustrated, well researched and authoritative. Alas, but my shelves have only so much room and I am not a collector but merely a writer.

Write me and let me know if this book would fill a niche in your library or a similar tale of need. I'll choose the recipient before US Thanksgiving and send it along US Mail to anyone, anywhere at my expense.

I would love to enter for this pen wrap too, but I am not going to be greedy! These pen wraps are a pretty good way to store and carry pens without having to worry about them getting scratches, or losing a clipless pen that would otherwise likely fall out of a pocket.

Dear everyone,

I'm so happy that I was the winner in drlizdub's PIF for the Jinhao. Rest reassured that I will put the pen to a very good use. Quite certainly I will give it to my coworker (a large man) and will try to turn him into a fp enthusiast (he has shown interest before)

Dear Liz,

Thank you so much for your generosity and social spirit. Of course I don't in fact know you, but I'll put you in my book under the 'awesome' label. ;)

And oh, ink samples..... most supreme, most.

I will PM you.

Okay, it's time for this weeks PIF. I'm offering a stainless steel Duke 209 fountain pen with a fude nib. The nib is really interesting, you can use both sides of the bent nib with very different results. The PIF is world wide and ends friday next week.

Edit. No special requirements just a random draw. You get the pen, the converter that came with the pen and a few Diamine cartridges in CultPens deep dark green or imperial purple. You can say no to the ink should you wish to so. There's no box

The reason I've started doing PIFs is that I have way too many pens and it's nice to release them back into the wild.
