Pay It Forward 2014

So! It's my Friday night, and I'm bored... Means it's time to start that second PiF...The Inks of the Apocalypse!

The Loot:

This package will be much like the last one I offered, including one Noodler's Turbo Skeezemeister 9000 eyedropper pen with a semi-flex nib (or so it would appear, I haven't actually inked this one), a pair of ink samples with sufficient volume for a couple fills each, and a syringe with a blunt dispenser needle for filling. No need to even risk your pipettes to fill 'er up! I haven't done more than look at the nib on this one, so you'll need to do the usual new-pen washing, waving at with a dead chicken, etc. I have NO idea how it writes.

The inks of choice for this round will be ESSRI (Iron Gall ink), and the infamous Noodler's Baystate Blue! Try out these two awesome (if rather terrifying) inks with no risk at all!

Who Can Play:

Anyone in the continental US is welcome to put in for this one, but please don't enter if you've won a PiF in the last couple months. I'd like this to go to someone who hasn't had a chance to try these inks before.

How It'll Work:

Everyone who enters gets assigned a number in the order of their PM to me, and on this coming Sunday afternoon 9/14 I will use Random.org to pick the winner, same as last time.

Here's the Loot!

I love it! Inks of the Apocalypse! I've tried both inks, though I own but one, you should try the PIF, it will be such fun! (PS you might want to join us over in the Ink Association Game, we have degenerated into Comics and Rhyme, which we believe is no crime. )

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I'd like to offer a PIF for you all. Sugarmade tree free paper. Specs: sugarcane and bamboo fiber, 92 bright 20lb.

I'm offering up a sample of 5 sheets of paper (or whatever it is I can fit in a standard business sized envelope with a Forever postage stamp haha... so it may be like 8 sheets) to 10 people, here in the USA. All I ask is that you PM an original poem you've written about fountain pens.

Final date for submission... how about September 15th. I'll pick winners based on what poems I liked best, and announce the winners and share the winning entries here September 20th.

Show me your creativity and enter for some free paper!

It is the 12th and only two entries so far, who will "win" by default. Anyone else? 8 more slots!

I informed the winners of my recent PiF on 9 September, and posted the results on this thread. There were five prizes, and four of them have been claimed (I'll be sending them off soon - tomorrow if I get to the post office before it closes).

BUT the following has not yet been claimed:

* L'Plume (11 entries): trdsf

I understand that people's mailboxes can sometimes fill up, resulting in their not receiving a PM. It's also possible to overlook an entry in such a large thread as this.

SO: trdsf, please let me know if you want to claim your prize.

I have decided to share this PIF between 2 winners - Brian K and Behike54

Please let me have your addresses. :)

Adrienne, they are ALL lovely!

Thank you so much for your continued generosity!

Cheers!

Finally got caught up on a bunch of things (and finally remembered to check FPN, which I hadn't in a while), and have messaged you, thank you so very much!

And let me just add, "Squee!" :D

Sent you a PM, cool PiF!

What - partial bottle (1/3-2/3 full) Sheaffer's Permanent Blue-Black #24 but you have to be willing to cover cost of shipping. As a guideline, it is roughly $6-$10 CONUS priority mail depending on where in the US you are related to the heart of Appalachia. I will check shipping before mailing so you can decide if it is worth it before I send it out.

How - send me a PM and you get a number and random.org will select.

When - sometime between now and the end of the month depending on when I get around to it.

It's about time I offered my first PIF.

On 'the attic', I found this gift set. Must be like 15 or 20 years old.

I haven't managed to find any brand name (not that I allocated huge amounts of time trying)

The fountain pen's been used one minicartridge long, the pen and rollerbal have not been used.

However, I just checked them and they'll need a new filling.

It's probably a cheap gift set, it doesn't write supersmooth. But it works fine and doesn't look all that bad.

Who can win/jhow to play? PM me; I'll be using random.org amongst the PM's that can convince me they'll actually be using the pen (for whatever purpose).

Closing time: next sunday 21.09 at my midnight.

I'll be drawing for The Inks of the Apocalypse in a couple hours, we have 16 entries right now!

EDIT: Ok, and it's drawing time! We have a total of 19 entries, with one withdraw (#7) by means of a separate trade (will re-roll that one if chosen), so over to Random.org!

And R.O says... One of our late entries, #18 - Oshizemi!

I am still flabbergasted at winning this, having entered last minute. Thank you again!

Thanks, yet again, to Adrienne, for her generosity in both deed and spirit!

One is, in fact, a Basquiat, which will stay on my desk as inspiration. :D

Already wrote and sent 2 postcards today! :bunny01:

Lovely, to say the least!
