I'd like to offer a PIF for you all. Sugarmade tree free paper. Specs: sugarcane and bamboo fiber, 92 bright 20lb.

I'm offering up a sample of 5 sheets of paper (or whatever it is I can fit in a standard business sized envelope with a Forever postage stamp haha... so it may be like 8 sheets) to 10 people, here in the USA. All I ask is that you PM an original poem you've written about fountain pens.

Final date for submission... how about September 15th. I'll pick winners based on what poems I liked best, and announce the winners and share the winning entries here September 20th.

Show me your creativity and enter for some free paper!

That's a nice PIF! I'd enter if I were from the US, but thinking of it - I can't write poems all that well XD

Good luck to everyone who enters!

Gentlefolk,

Pray thank you for your indulgence.

Sadly due to an unfortunate set of circumstances that have left me with seriously compromised health I was unable to accomplish the stand-up, dart-throwing, cape-flourishing version of my random number generator.

Okay, settle down, settle down! As a tribute to what may have been, a magnetic dartboard (in the interest of safety) and set of darts was brought to my home for the purposes of tonight’s (my time) entertainment.

As usual I was impeccably attired for bed in the finest Rupert Bear pajamas – my condition prevented an uncensored photograph, alas – and in place of the expected Imperial March (as heard in the much beloved The Empire Strikes Back) I selected Danse Macabre, which I felt lent the proceedings a certain sense of the surreal.

The dartboard was placed, complete with folded post-it notes, beyond my sight on the floor at the foot of the bed. My gorgeous assistant partner passed me the darts and we were off!

Well, let me tell you, gentlepeople all, it was not easy. After several failed excursions, two of which convinced the cat that my feet were not a nice warm resting place, I had a winner.

So, without further ado (yeah I know, I know  ), the winner of the Copper Esterbrook J with the fine 9556 nib is…

Chrissy!

Addendum

Doing this PIF has made me a little sad. There were so much enthusiasm and so many entries I really wanted to give everyone a pen. A bittersweet moment for me.

Cryptos,

I've just returned to somewhat full time FPN & the PIF thread. But being an animal lover ( especially CATS ) I'm exteremly relieved that no animals were harmed. I am also glad your cat did not decide to scratch your feet raw!!!

Seriously, that was one very nice PIF.

Don't worry Aggie, there was no danger to Biskit. She moves much faster than me, but she does tend to sit wherever she wants. We've given up and just let her please herself. Of course we love her dearly.

Chrissy,

Congrats! If you decide that you simply aren't totally in loveoi with Esterbrook J, I would feel that I could be magnanimous enough to take it and give it a loving home.

I don't yet have an EJ or any type of vintage pen. That is in my plans, just haven't gotten there.

Yes, our Abby & Ebby have run of the house. Cats seem to do that.

Congratulations Chrissy! That is one gorgeous pen and, like Aggie, if you decide you don't like it, I'd be more than pleased to take it off your hands.

Cryptos, thank you for the detailed description of "the choosing"; it definitely made me chuckle, picturing it.

Congratulations Chrissy! I'm sure your new Estie will be amazing, they tend to do that.

mr2texasaggie, take your time and listen to your body. Better to ease back into the ink, I mean water, than to move back several places. Have you noticed how everything seems to be attached to your back?

Cryptos, thank you for deciding against making me bleach my eyes. Even the thought of your original plan caused shudders. Maybe I don't like capes? Hard to tell. Great PIF and beautiful pen.

You must be the last one to receive them, or close... which seems to indicate that the farther away the destination, the greater the speed... as my friend in India whom I also sent one was among the first to indicate it had arrived! and yours had to travel the shortest distance. I'm glad they arrived safe and sound. May you have fun using them. If you don't top them up with water but use them as they are, let me know. And, I hope you like the colors!

I received mine on the same day, thank you so much for your generosity! I topped off one of the emerald green carts and plugged it into one of my 45's, it was a little oversaturated at first but I think that was due to the additional water not having mixed in well at the time. After some rotations and settling it is much more well behaved, a nice vibrant color for my legal pads. :)
