Results of my Calligraphy PIF

I ended up doing 2 separate draws (names in a hat) for the book and the pen/nibs.

The winner of the book is Apprenti and the winner of the pen is idragir. If the winners would PM me with names & addresses I'll sort out getting these sent off.

Had lot of entries for this one so thanks all for your interest.

Hi

How does this PIF thing work, is it only open to new member or hard up members or anyone.

What's the politically correct way of saying yes please without coming over all greedy sounding.

Hi Paul. Good questions, all.

PIF can be offered by anyone. The one offering sets the rules for who may enter/request, and is the sole decision on who gets what is offered.

Generally speaking, a PM is sent to the one offering, and a simple, "yes please, I would like to be included. Thank you." will suffice, but folks often like to include a short "why am I interested" statement, too.

Be forewarned... I will eye-bang the bejeezus out of your pens...

Sorry for the delay. I would like to thank all of the participants. The lucky number is 9. Kylethetrial is the lucky recipient!

Please message me with the necessary info. ^_^ Congratulations!

I may not have any fancy pens to give away, but there are a few I have around which I will never use and feel that they should go to someone who will.

3. Hero 616 (black)

I'll only ship them within India and all 3 will go to the same person, to save on shipping costs. They are cheap pens and the nibs are not the best, so they should ideally go to someone who is new to fountain pens and wants to try a few different ones. So just send me a PM letting me know that (and maybe even why) you're interested and I'll select someone shortly.

Thank you very much Migo984, it'll be put to good use!

I'd like to offer some hand-made things in the future when time/money permits, things like pen cases, book covers etc. Thank you very much to the inhabitants of this site for being such lovely people.

The winner of this PIF is nigeldsouza. He assures me that they will be well looked after and used since he is a student/intern and has wanted to try a Camlin Trinity and Hero 616 but has been unable to find them. So I'm happy to send these pens to him.

I've been catching up on threads I have missed since the holidays and I am so pleased to see how many PIFs there already are and it's only the 14th!

Here's my first PIF of the year. I have a set of Pilot Parallels, all four sizes plus a custom ground 1mm, and some cartridges in various colors. I bought them with the hopes that I would get better at calligraphy, but it's just not happening and I don't have the time it requires to practice, so there's no sense in keeping them. Ideally, I would like to have someone from the US who is just getting into calligraphy or could use these for artistic purposes. They do have some pretty neat color mixing capabilities. PM me with your name and if there's any interest I will do a drawing on Sunday.

Now that I've shipped off my first PIF, it's time to put up my second!

Up for grabs is a Parker Frontier GT Stainless Steel. It comes with the original gold F nib, that is a bit scratchy and requires some work. And a steel nib that is smoother, but lays down quite a thick medium line, it could be a broad nib, I'm not sure as I haven't used a broad nib before. It also comes with a spare silver section ring, and of course a converter.

I will only ship within India. It should ideally go to someone who would love a premium looking pen and will make good use of it. Despite it being from Luxor and not being the same quality as any of the older Parker pens, it should still be a pretty reliable writer and be able to handle a lot of use.

Ok.. so... One of the BEST PIF'er of 2013 and the winner to a set of AWESOME Australian Exclusive Inks.. is...... (drum roll please..... )

******* alc90210 ******* .. I kid... I kid... I meant... ******** alc3261 ******** :D :D

FYI.... this pack of sample inks where carefully carried by a gentle Kangaroo from Queensland (Justwrite.com) to the care of my friend in South Australia. Then it traveled from South Australia to India to attend a wedding. The inks were given to the custody of my Canadian friend who was actually getting married. When the glorious event was completed, the Ink followed its merry way from India to Paris for a quick honeymoon. From Paris, it came back to the real world via Air Canada to Toronto. And now, from Toronto it will find its final destination in the glorious UK where my dearest Alc will provide them with a warm and safe place to call home

Alc, please forgive them if they are a little jet lagged... I am sure they will perform quite well in not time. ;)

Congrats alc, very well deserved. I scarcely log into these threads when I don't see an offer of yours.

I got a great PM from one of a recipient of one of my PIF's earlier, a Retro51 that I didn't care much for. He ended up having to send it in due to a broken feed, but now has a functional pen that he enjoys. Made my day!
