I got this pen at a local antique store. It is an old Sheaffer School Pen. I cleaned it out (boy was it dirty) and gave the metal bits and nib a quick polish. The nib was scratchy because the ink had caused pitting on the tipping material. I reground it to a fine (.05mm?) cursive italic and smoothed it a bit (It's not ultra smooth but it won't rip the paper when you do a quick flourish either). The body is still covered in micro scratches and it looks better in these photos than in the hand. You can buff this back to smooth using Brian Anderson's instructions and some mirco mesh but I'm not going to bother as it looks fairly good to me (just not brand new and shiny). If i packaged this pen with a bar of solid gold I could probably sell it for $15 or so which is what i paid for it so there's no sense trying to sell it. I also picked up a pack of Sheaffer assorted color cartridges so you can start writing as soon as you get it.

Shoot me a PM and I will enter you for a random number drawing. I will draw the winner Friday August 29th sometime close to midnight.

Are you using this pen as an eyedropper?

Yes. It's not going well for my fingers. I would not recommend trying it without some silicon grease HAHAHAHAHA :D.

Passing along some ink samples from Goulet and my private collection. Two batches:

Set one, assorted inks, is ready to go this week. See below for pic.

Set two, samples of pilot inks, will be ready next week or whenever the set of Iroshizuku inks I ordered Japan, on eBay, arrive so I can replenish the Goulet sample bottles and add a few more. The pilot ink set will ultimately have about 8 pilot inks, and if I wasn't about to be the proud owner of the big bottles I would want this PIF.

Please send me a PM telling me which set you want and why. Please keep it short; I don't want to waste anyone's time. Open to everyone, because who doesn't love new inks? EDIT: PIF NOW CLOSED! Please see below for assorted ink winner; Iroshizuku winner to be announced when inks arrive!

Pictured are the inks I am ready to send out now. Iroshizuku inks aren't pictured, but basically, they are all the shades of blue/pink/purple in the line.

Ever wanted to try out iron gall inks, but didn't want to risk (from the horror stories you see) turning one of your expensive babies into a puddle of bubbling slag? Then this is the PiF for you!

Who's Eligible: Anyone who hasn't used IG inks before, and let's keep this one inside the US, please, for shipping reasons.

What 'Ya Get!: This PiF is a package deal, containing what I believe to be the single skeeziest fountain pen ever manufactured. This is a Noodler's branded eyedropper with a thread-on cap, that came with a bottle of ink. It actually wrote halfway decently (if a bit scratchy) with the ESSRI when I got it going a minute ago, but getting the ink flow started the first time required a water-dip for the nib. Also included are 5 mils each (two and a bit fills for the pen) of two of the more common IG inks, both classic blue-blacks. ESSRI, and R&K Salix. I'll also toss in a syringe with a blunt dispenser needle for transferring it from the vials to the pen, so you don't have to even contaminate one of your own pipettes.

Come on, 'ya got no more excuses not to try the stuff! Drop me a message, and I'll use Random.org to pick a number on Wednesday or so of next week, and get 'er shipped before the weekend. (This is my first PiF, so please have patience with any foibles in messaging, etc)

Giving this one a quick bump, I'll consult Random.org for a winner tomorrow evening some time, I think. :)
