Maybe I just suck at photos?

Maybe. You may send me that pen as an attempt to atone. ;)

Ever wanted to try out iron gall inks, but didn't want to risk (from the horror stories you see) turning one of your expensive babies into a puddle of bubbling slag? Then this is the PiF for you!

Who's Eligible: Anyone who hasn't used IG inks before, and let's keep this one inside the US, please, for shipping reasons.

What 'Ya Get!: This PiF is a package deal, containing what I believe to be the single skeeziest fountain pen ever manufactured. This is a Noodler's branded eyedropper with a thread-on cap, that came with a bottle of ink. It actually wrote halfway decently (if a bit scratchy) with the ESSRI when I got it going a minute ago, but getting the ink flow started the first time required a water-dip for the nib. Also included are 5 mils each (two and a bit fills for the pen) of two of the more common IG inks, both classic blue-blacks. ESSRI, and R&K Salix. I'll also toss in a syringe with a blunt dispenser needle for transferring it from the vials to the pen, so you don't have to even contaminate one of your own pipettes.

Come on, 'ya got no more excuses not to try the stuff! Drop me a message, and I'll use Random.org to pick a number on Wednesday or so of next week, and get 'er shipped before the weekend. (This is my first PiF, so please have patience with any foibles in messaging, etc)

Very nice PIF with two very nice inks.

ESSRI is a little dry for my tastes, but it was the first ink I ever saw change color before my eyes.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Edit: Spoken for. Thanks all!

Hey all,

First time in this thread, so please correct any shortcomings. I'm new to the FP thing and am going through samples pretty quick. Here is a list of what I have to pass along. All samples originally prepared by gouletpens.com. Postage is on me. US only please. And I'd rather just send it all to one person. If there are some in the bunch that you aren't interested in, then perhaps you can pass those along to someone else.

Bad Blue Heron

If you take a look down in the "inky thoughts" section, there are a hefty number of topics on IG inks. They're rather controversial, with the downsides being the inevitable level of precipitation from the chemical reaction involved in the ink gradually depositing in the feed, requiring rather more care than normal dye-based inks, and a propensity for classical formulations to be corrosive.

The upsides being that modern inks aren't NEARLY as corrosive, don't precipitate as badly, and shade like nothing else out there. They actually change colour on the paper! These go from a light-to-medium blue to a near-black over the course of a couple days for me. That is very dependent on the paper used, in terms of how fast the colour change takes place. They also perform extremely well on poor-quality papers. They tend to be a bit "dry". So, the ideal pen for them is one that is easy to fully disassemble, is frequently used on low-quality paper (printer stock, post-it notes, etc) and has a good, wet flow. Most of my work with them is in my Lamy Safaris and AlStars, since I can fully disassemble them for cleaning periodically, and they're not overly expensive should something go horribly wrong. So far, *I* have had nothing but the best performance from them, and no trouble at all. YMMV, as always, which is why I'm tossing this one out there! :)

Uhm . . . sure. And you'll know it's me by the official FPN Duct-tape Name Tag on my forehead that says OcalaFLGuy. Just tell me to hand it over. :vbg:

Special batch of Amber select papers with doodles - preferable for you to write to other FPNers using FP inks and post up as Co-Razy Reviews.

Each person who doodles a Pacman character - suitable as an Amber Avatar (Ghost, Pac, Ms. Pac -- whatever), will get a letter from me with at least five sheets of writing paper with a written sample of an ink I am reviewing.

Sheets may be lined papers like this:

Or doodle sheets like this:

This PIF will be open for at least one week.

Thanks!

Got ithe PIF yesterday!

I do have a friend who is çonsidering using fountain pens

I've had very little interest for this PIF, nobody wanting to use this as a "gateway drug" to addict an unsuspecting Newbie??

Applications on behalf of a non-member seriously considered!!

Really? No takers? That's a great pen! If you don't have a taker, my daughter is starting school tomorrow and she'd love it. Her nice pen was a gift from and FPNer and I won't let her take it to school.

WOW what a beauty. Can't call myself a newbie anymore (even if my five pens are all C/C and I'd definitely would want to experience some other systems).

Nice PIF!
