Pay It Forward 2014

***BUMP*** Just a reminder... there are a few days left.

Speaking of PIF, it's my turn to offer one. I bought this Cross Aventura a few months ago and I just can't fall in love with it. It writes well but I prefer a finer nib than this one has. So, I'd like to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it more than I do. I've flushed it as well as I possibly could. I'll ship it anywhere and will include a couple of cartridges with it.

Ideally, I'd like it to go to someone who is new to the world of fountain pens, as I am, but I'm not going to limit it. Tell me why you'd like this pen and you'll be entered. I will choose a recipient on July 1 (or about then.... it could be a busy weekend).

I have received many pens and ink samples from this site over the last 2 years. And I have tried them all. I decided to pass along the pens I don't use to inspire others like me.

I have 6 pens that need new homes. I will include ink samples. I can't afford to ship outside the US.

I will give these to the first person who wants them and you can request 2 pens. I will also give a bag of 10 random 5ml ink samples to the person who asks.

I don't know all the info on the pens but I will try my best.

Very cool! I'm getting my first PIF-boxed Hero (with stars in its eyes).

Anyone happen to know what model it is? I just don't know Hero's at all.

Thanks, aj 3537!!

The Hero looks like it might be a 343. I have one and I like it a lot. It can get a little messy sometimes (not always), but it writes very smoothly.

And keep it out of the rain, by the backstage door.

My pleasure- but it is the truth!

Since I've gotten such lovely things from PIFs, I'll start one of my own.

I have a Duke Green Carbon, purchased from Betram's Inkwell in May. It's a little too heavy/large for my tiny hands, but it's very, very smooth. I'd compare it to a Faber-Castell steel nib. Duke, in this case, is Duke Germany, the house brand of Monteverde; here's some more info on the pen. The nib is one size; probably equivalent to a Western F or M. It's a C/C filler.

I will ask the recipient to cover shipping.

To enter, send me a haiku about pens by next Friday, July 4.

Halfway through.

4 Pen Wrap PIF (slight second - the glue which secures the cord in place is showing through a bit on the inside)

Muted Blue Check Pattern, perhaps more masculine? (but PIF not confined to men!!)

Well, it's July 1, Canada's birthday, and it's going to be a busy day around here so I've made my draw for the Cross Aventura. Eleven people entered this PIF - a pretty good response, I think. Thank you all for entering; it was nice to "meet" you all via your messages. I wanted to send the pen to all of you. However, that isn't possible.

I'm pleased to be sending it off to PenPalAnna. Anna, if you'll pm me your information, I'll have the pen in the mail to you by this weekend.

Congratulations!

Ok, so I didn't get them mailed on Monday as I planned. But I did mail them all out today.

Enjoy.
