Thank you, Rusty! The Schaeffer calligraphy pen will take some getting used to (it's a hard starter), but it's a lot of fun to play with! (Apologies for the shoddy photos- my living room gets almost no light and the overhead is TOO bright)

All of these items were purchased brand new since February; the ink bottles are nearly full. I am restricting myself to a limited collection and want to keep only what truly appeals to me.

I have a few things I've been disappointed in that I'd like to pass on. Maybe someone else can appreciate them.

 

1. Noodler Flex Pen in Ivory Darkness

I do not like this pen at all. I don't like the look or the feel of it, and flexing the nib takes too much effort. That said, if you've been thinking about trying one out, here's your chance with zero investment. Maybe you're the person this pen was made for. If not, at least you didn't pay anything. I know... I'm making this sound irresistable, right?

 

2. Noodler's Apache Sunset ink

I thought this would be a slightly darker orange. It's too light for me to write grading notes with, and too dark to highlight with. It is a pretty color, but it's just does not fulfill my needs. The 3oz bottle is mostly full as I only I filled two pens with it.

 

3. Noodler's Shah's Rose ink

The color actually looks nice in a thick nib -- there's some shading and depth. Unfortunately for me, I almost exclusively write in extra fine, so it just comes across as a boring pink. The 3oz bottle is nearly full.

A PM sent to Rare. Thank you for these opportunities. I just discovered Goulet pens website two nights ago and have several inks in my cart. I don't own any bottles yet and only have one pen. (One on the way). I am looking forward to experimenting with inks.

I would like to come up with a few to grade papers with, write with, and to draw with so I have lots of ideas. All of the assistance from FPN has been very helpful.
