Pay It Forward 2014

Now been paid forward - sorry!

Pilot Plumix, M nib, UK preferred, or guess postage.

I bought a black Pilot Plumix, the squidlike sort, marked BB on the section, to get the BB nib. It's yours, new, with a lightly used italic M nib (as standard on the Pluminix) in its place. International fit, not Pilot proprietary. Supplied with two cartridges of some colour or other, and with a new green Monteverde converter I had lying around. Haven't tested it, but it seems to fit snugly enough.

Line width is nominally 0.58mm, but it's actually just a shade narrower than the Lamy 1.1, and with a shade better line variation, because the nib is cut the same way as Lamy but is thinner.

Use as is for a quirky-looking frankenpen, or put the nib into your Prera, Kakuno, Metropolitan/MR, Penmanship, 78g etc.

UK preferred, or a small donation for international postage - international postage isn't easy to predict until you're actually at the counter, so I'm being cautious here.

First PM saying you'll take it gets it.

Sorry Brunico... but where did you find a Pilot Plumix with a BB nib?

Thank you!

I bought this one. Canada isn't listed as a shipping destination, but you could ask. They sent the squidlike Plumix, not the one shown, which is basically a Penmanship with yellow fins on the cap.

I spent a while searching for mine - not available in the UK, AFAIK - but they're out there, and I hope you find one!

Would it be similar to this one? I have never dealt with this company, but had it bookmarked for future purchases.

That 6mm is up in Steel Brush territory. I have some old sign-painter steel brushes I use to do REALLY BIG calligraphy. My largest is about 5/8", if I remember correctly. Cool!

Yes! I like their description - "Funny Japanese fountain-pen for everyday writing" - and they're right about it being wider than the stated 1.0mm. It's close to a Lamy 1.5. The Lamy 1.1 falls between Pilot's M (supposedly 0.58mm) and B (0.7mm). I'd love to have the full set if they're actually the Penmanship-style bodies with the yellow tabs.

Glad to see you putting it to good use. The red cartridges it came with were displeasing to me at first, but after a bit of use I became quite fond of them. Cheers!

To the restorationists among among you, I have a gift to pass on.

My neighbor gave me a Conklin sans cap. It is a lever-filler and the lever says "PAT NOV 17 1925." It is black and looks very old with a fair compliment of to-be-expected signs of use. It had a wonderful Waterman's Ideal #2 flex nib that immediately jumped over to my Pelikan 120 and refuses to leave.

Thus, I am offering to anyone who has need or desire a Conklin barrel with section (about 98~99mm) with feed, but sans cap and nib. The sac is most certainly ossified and I made no attempt to remove the section from the barrel. The lever is rounded and bent a bit at the end, but would be functional as is. I personally would be afraid of breakage if I tried to straighten it.

Free shipping to CONUS, PP me $5 to cover any international shipping.

First person to convince me they have legitimate use for any part of it to complete a restoration project or think they can resurrect it gets it!

Parker Vector Black Medium nib

I've got a Parker Vector I bought a while back and it is in good condition as I haven't made much use of it.

attachicon.gifVector.jpg

Stock photo used as my camera isn't great.

A few notes on the pen

  1. Condition; good.
  2. Takes Parker Refills.
  3. I will include a cartridge or two.

Point's to note about this PIF

  • Send me a message on why you want it.
  • This PIF is UK only as I don't want to pay a lot for international shipping.
  • I'll keep it open till Monday 2nd June 8am GMT however, this may be extended.

Got no interest from UK so know open to world wide shipping inc and finishes Wednesday 8 am GMT.

I received injesticate's awesome pen rest late last week -- I'll post a picture tonight, but it has immediately taken up residence on my nightstand, supporting a Lamy Al-Star.

For pen turners. CONUS because I've sent wood internationally before and don't need the hassles associated with it. Dimensions are approximate. One piece of black walnut 8-1/4"x1"x3/4" and a remnant from another project, oak/maple/cherry/black walnut 7"x3-1/2"x3/4" that should make an interesting pen or two depending on how you cut it. Let me know why you want it. First good reason gets it unless I get tired of it sitting on my desk and then it goes to whomever. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc373/baconpics/2014-06-03062325_zps188418a3.jpg

Hey, Teacher Man, thanks for the Parker Cartridges!

http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp360/Ink_Stained_Wretch/Thanks_teacher_man.png

Got it.

The Parker cartridges really arrived more than a week ago, but then I had to deal with my C: drive. It has been replaced, cloned, surface scanned and defragmented, so the new one is working now. That can take some time out of your life.

Anyway, I've really struggled to get the image posted here, that's why I've had to edit this posting. The first try did not work. I guess I've figured it out now, however.

The empty cartridges to the left of the pad had the Parker's black ink in them, so I emptied all of those and put the ink in a small bottle. I'll be re-using all of these cartridges for years, and the ink from them will get mixed with other ink.

I've used my army block printing for the handwritten note in the image because my cursive script is nothing anyone else will want to see.

So thanks, again, and I'll sure be using your gift.

(oops! I deleted the picture, sorry)

This is my first PIF listing so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing. Have decided to winnow

down my collection of pens and miscellaneous ink cartridges. US shipping only please. Ideally

I would prefer to share these pens with folks who are just starting out but all will be

considered. PM me your choice by #. All of them are gently used and all have been given a

basic clean. Offer good til the end of June.

#1: Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pens, they came with Medium nibs but I also bought the

Broad nibs for the red and green and will include them. This will be all three pens and will

include a few ink cartridges as well.
Loveatfirstink claimed these!

#2: Pelikan Script pens - 1, 1.5 and 2 - will include a few full and empty Pelikan cartridges

(probably blue)
JDP2496 has claimed these!

#3: Ohto Poche Pocket fountain pen, fine nib, zebra body. MissCihef has claimed this pen!

#4: Noodler Nib Creaper Flex nib Clear Demonstrator, piston fill, resin - slightly stained or

it just may need a more thorough cleaning than I care to bother with.
Taken by Hardyoyo!

#5: Sheaffer 'Viewpoint' Calligraphy foutain pen, med nib (1.3mm) - black with 2 blue Skrip

cartridges.

Thanks for all the great responses everyone! Just two left. JDP2496 and loveatfirstink would you each please send me your mailing addresses via PM? (already asked Hardyoyo) If I ever do this again I think I'll list them one at a time! LOL!!

Thanks for the PIF mezzie, the first ink drop just came in today. I got home after work and was excited when I saw the package. The first one I used was Pelikan aventurine.
