PIFing a green 78G B (.9mm italic) and basic Pilot converter to whoever PMs me first. Would like to give this to someone who doesn't already have an italic pen.

Open to international people dependent on the cost of shipping. If you're in the US you'll also get some Pilot cartridges (sorry, lovely international people, but I don't want to ship ink across borders).

Hmm, my dad's already got an italic pen so I suppose I don't really need this. I hope someone accepts though, it's a very generous offer! :)

I have been wanting to do a PIF for quite some time now. I've been lucky and honored to win some PIFs when I first started here even though I was mainly into the ink. After seeing all of the PIFs that have been offered here, I felt rather intimidated. I tend to be a perfectionist depending on the situation and had this mindset that I HAD to find the right thing to PIF to a lucky individual. I became very anxious, stressed and worrisome over the whole thing.

It's a new year and I vowed that I would hold a PIF and not stress out about it. I still do not know a lot about the world of fountain pens especially when it comes to paper. I thought this would be nice for anyone who would like to jot down notes, scribble, or doodle.

PIF Offered:

One sky blue, medium ruled, hard cover notebook (5 x 8.1 in.) featuring 240 pages & an inner pocket. 3 ink samples: Montblanc Einstein, Noodler's Saguaro Wine, & Private Reserve Spearmint.

I included links to ink reviews by fellow FPN members as a reference.

Criteria:

Just send me a message and tell me how you got into fountain pens. You will be assigned a number once I receive your submission.

Anyone is eligible for this PIF.

A random number will be picked and the winner will be announced on Sunday, January 12.

:)

Any further interest in this one?

Happy New Year FPN!!

Just before Christmas I bought a few more inks from Diamine, after I fell in love with their Ancient Copper. I bought a couple of bottles, and I'd like to share this amazing colour with someone else.
http://diamineinks.co.uk/images/ITEMS/634.jpg

So, I have a 30ml bottle of Diamine Ancient Copper to give way to one Aussie user. Like my last PIF, I'd prefer that this goes to someone who doesn't have the means to blow money on inks, and who actually has an interest in this colour.

There is a quick review and some discussion on the ink here.

Shoot me a PM and I'll pick a "winner" next week ;)

Love the ink, and would love to try it, but unfortunately I am not in Oz. Surely there are plenty of Aussies that could use a new ink.

PIF For Those New to Fountain Pens

Here goes my first PIF for my 500th post. So the pen is a Bic Easy clic (mint condition, Medium nib) fountain pen in green. I will include a few cartridges with it (it only takes short standard international ones). A review by a fellow member. No costs to the recipient of course.

So I am offering this as UK ONLY to keep my costs down INITIALLY. This is quite a simple pen that would make a good first FP so if you think you know someone or are someone who would make good use out of it PM me.

A few sentences to describe who the intened recipent as well please (I will use this to decide the recipient).

If I don’t get much interest by Tuesday I will open I will open it up to everyone (will post on here if I do) with a winner picked next Friday at 12:00 am dependent on at least 3 entrys if not the time period will be extened.

Edit: Second thought no Minimum requirements needed.

That is a very nice pen in spite of the fact that it's a BIC. They write really nice and I hope you get a lot of participants - it's worth it. I had one and lost it in a lecture hall one evening, it was snapped up by a lucky finder I guess. I went back to the store the next day to replace it... Good luck to everyone who joins!

PIF for those interested in Calligraphy

My first PIF of 2014 comprises two items.

First is a copy of "The Calligrapher's Bible". This spiral bound book shows 100 complete alphabets and how to draw them. It has a brief introductory section on materials and getting started but I wouldn't say this is necessarily a book for a complete novice. The book is approx A5 size and is thick & heavy.

Here is the amazon.co.uk page http://www.amazon.co.uk/Calligraphers-Bible-Complete-Alphabets-Draw/dp/0713665041/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1388947958&sr=1-1&keywords=calligraphers+bible

Second item is an Osmiroid Master Calligraphy pen set comprising a pen and 6 nibs (for Italic, Roman, Gothic, Uncial & Copperplate writing). There are 2 cartridges but I don't know how viable these are, plus a squeezefill. Although the packaging is old and a bit tatty this set is "new" and has never been opened. I believe, but am not 100% certain, that these nibs may fit Esterbrook pens too EDIT: These DO NOT fit Esterbrooks - thanks Cyber6. .

I'd like this PIF to go to someone who wants to learn calligraphy and is either a new starter or a slightly more experienced novice. I would like the 2 items to go together, but will consider awarding separately if you only want one of them & convince me to do so. :)

Because of the weight of the book this must go to a UK member only. If I award the pen & nibs as a separate item I'm willing to post these abroad.

So if you're interested please send me a brief PM with the reason you're interested in this PIF. If you already do calligraphy a picture of your work would be nice, attached to your PM :)

I'll leave this open until 8pm (GMT) on Sunday 12th January.

Hi everyone, I am almost a month late and I apologize for the delay. I would like to show everyone the generous PIF that I was fortunate enough to receive from FPN user shudaizi. The Pilot Vanishing Point that he had shipped to me (at his own expense), is a superb writer. The line it produces is not too thick for an M nib, nor does it write too wet for my tastes. It is incredibly smooth and the pen never dries out :). It is an excellent tool for a student such as myself, and I am forever grateful to shudaizi for this PIF. I will certainly put this workhorse through years of great service!

Lots of use for school notes, marginalia, and various critical thoughts.

I wish my handwriting could be more beautiful, but THANK YOU SHUDAIZI!

I`m decimating my collection, that means every tenth writing instrument has to go to a new home this year.

So here`s my PIF for this January:

http://i.imgur.com/j6SUPHh.gif?1

This is a Rotring Art Pen c/c filler with a very smooth 1,1mm italic steel nib suitable for calligraphy as well as daily writing, sketching, scribbling...you name it. The winner gets this pen and some fitting ink cartridges for it.

This contest is open to everyone worldwide. So if you like to win send me a PM titled "Art Pen" including an explanation why your parrot ate up one of your fountain pens. The best story wins. This PIF will be closed on Friday, January 31th. The winner will be announced on February 1st.

Good Luck to you all.

Yet another hobby that is completely out of control...

Offered to any UK based (due to postage) FPN-er with more than 20 posts - A used Sailor Lecoule with smoke colour cap and F-M nib. Sadly it does not have a converter, so best suited to someone with a Sailor converter, Sailor Carts or a syringe to refill a couple of empty cartridges that I will send with the pen.

First post in this thread from someone who meets the criteria will get the pen. If you have a lot of pens already then all I would ask is that you consider putting one up for PIF over the next few months.

Great PIF Migo !!!!... Re. Osmiroid nibs.. These ones are not the ones that fit esterbrooks. The older osmiroids - without the long barrels section attached to the nib - are the ones that fits esterbrooks. In summary, the ones that look like esterbrook nibs. ;)
