Bumping up for half time!

Among other not pen related stuff, I ran across these two:

attachicon.gifspringPIF14.jpg

None of my business, so up for grabs!

The upper one; that colour Stypen, made in France, dip tested and writes nicely to my experience.

The lower one: transparent orange Bruynzeel (a Dutch brand), dip tested and a horrible writer to my experience.

Both come with a cartridge as shown.

The usual small print:

Open world wide.

No restrictions but your own decency if you won a PIF before.

Application for one or another, but not both(!) by PM till coming Sunday 6th of March. Just state why on earth you would like that colour of pen or such a horrible writer.

A high hat, a wagging tail and if necessary a wet nose will decide who wins on Monday 7 or Tuesday 8

Shipping to the winner as usual 'el cheapo' mail (not signed for, not insured).

and there is a bottle of Penman Sapphire on grabs too... see post #714

I know your original post is on March 30th, so I'm assuming you meant 'coming Sunday 6th of April', not of March.

I will draw this on Sunday pm but in the meantime take a look at the Blue ones I made yesterday:-

I thought you already drew for this. Love the circuit one.

The one on the left and the dark blue one on the right (William Morris print?) are my favorites.

New PIF

Preferred Destination : Within the Continental USA

(there's not much sense in asking an international winner to pitch in on shipping

since you can order one of these on ebay for about the same cost as shipping from

the US to most international destinations).

Deadline : Friday, April 4th @ 11:59PM EST

For this PIF I have a Kaigelu 363 in a chrome finish with a gold trim. It's got a tiny bit more weight than a Jinhao 616 but about the same height. Since it's barrel diameter is the same from top to bottom it will fit a large international standard cartridge, but does come with a standard Kaigelu converter with a small metal ball bearing (for agitation).

I'm also including a Waterman Intense Black Large Cartridge if you're new to fountain pens and don't yet have inks. Waterman Intense Black seems to be pretty well controlled even with wetter nibs. This 363 is medium in size, and the nib has a decent wetness to it (pretty wet with something like Noodler's Bad Green Gator).

( Quickie Write Sample next to other pens if you're curious: http://static.karlblessing.com/reviews/paper/rhodia5x5dotpad_front.jpg )

To Enter just shoot me a private message. I'm not expecting any kind of essay or anything, just would like to see this go to someone new to fountain pens user who wants to try out one of the inexpensive Chinese pens with some weight to it.

Giving a Heads Up that there's less than a day (Roughly 18 or so hours from the time of this post) left to enter the PIF for this one. The Current Entry count is 3 people so far.

RESULT OF MY PIF OR A MINI FOUNTAIN PEN +F HERBIN INK CARTRDIGES

Good evening all. Wow! Thanks so much for the overwhelming response to my PIF for the Cultpens Mini pen. I received close on 50 expressions of interest! I read through every one and to be honest, I found it almost impossible to choose a winner. I wish I had 50 pens to give away, as every PM was just great.

But I have made a decision and the winner is COMPTINE

Congratulations Comptine, I'll be in touch via PM to get your details.

Hello all!

Hey I am really new to fountain pens and I only have one cartridge of ink that my friend gave me with my Lamy Safari. Does anyone have any green or reds in various shades that they would be willing to part with? I also would like a black ink that truly dries black instead of greyish. I write a lot and my cartridge is nearly gone and it has only been a week.

If you were UK I'd post you a pack of Lamy turquoise I have lying around however as you being US postage would be a few times greater then the cost of the cartridges.

Wish I still had pals there. they could mail it free of charge (Gotta love postal workers!). Thanks for the offer. I have a converter and really would prefer to use bottled inks as they have a wider color variation and im not filling landfills with needless plastic tubes

New Pay-It-Forward

Open to FPN members who 1) Have no Akkerman ink, 2) Love bright red/pink ink and 3) Can tell me in a very short paragraph why they believe it's better to give than to receive.

End date for submissions - April 15th, 2014 (tax day!)

If you are the winner, you will pay for shipping, so if you live in Cleveland, Cornwall or the Congo, you're in! PM me with your submission.

My recent group buy resulted in a bottle of #12 Mauritshuis Magenta leaking and having to be replaced. The leaking was the result of a not tight enough cap combined with the plane ride from Den Haag to NYC. Both bottle and cap are undamaged. The "inky bottle" and its "inky box" are what is up for grabs. Best of luck to all!

attachicon.gifimage.jpg

attachicon.gifimage.jpg

Edited to clarify what caused the leak.

Vulpen supplied a new box and stickers, so this PIF is now only missing a bit of ink. Great color - cool, cute bottle!

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

:bunny01: New PIF for Spring :bunny01:

Hello everyone

I thought that today it would be nice to offer a bright, cheerful PIF to celebrate the end of what has been a long winter for many and to welcome the long-awaited arrival of spring. So I'm offering a Lamy Safari Fountain Pen in the new 2014 Limited Edition colour, Neon Coral. This comes with a medium nib and I'll also include a Z24 converter.

You'll all be familiar with the ubiquitous Safari so I'm sure I don't need to say any more about this pen.

If the winner resides in the UK I will include a bottle of Diamine Coral ink to match the pen. If the winner is outside the UK I will include a pack of Monteverde ink cartridges in Fluorescent Orange (these fit the Safari)

This PIF is open to all. I trust you to use your own judgement but if you have won a recent PIF and/or you can easily afford to buy this pen for yourself, please consider whether it is appropriate or not to enter this PIF.

I will ship this pen worldwide at my own cost.

Entry is by PM to me. I will close this PIF at 7pm British Summer Time on Monday 14th April. I will select the winner at random using www.random.org

Good luck everyone :)

EDIT: ALL TAKEN, THANKS FOR HELPING ME CLEAR UP MY DRAWER! :)

Drawer Clearing PIF

I've just been off from a long hiatus, and have come to the conclusion that I've got more stuff than I need, despite that golden rule of fountain pen collecting:

I am and will be therefore selling off a few of my pens, and I've decided to give away a few inks that I have, in hope that they'll be used by someone who writes a lot. (Or you could just dump the ink away and load that ink bottle with your favourite ink, I'm not particular about that. )

I've got two bottles of Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue, one in an old bottle, and another in that medieval looking bottle of theirs.

Other than that, I've got a large bottle of Pelikan 4001 purple and a small bottle of green.

I know many of you have better choices of inks, so I guess it's up for whoever wants it. There is a catch though: those who want them would have to pay for their shipping. I'm really sorry about that. I'll just post it according to how you want it, and I'll mail you a scan of the receipt. I could chip in a little if you find the price too high, just send me a PM and we'll talk about it.

I'll post the pics of them soon, alright? In the meantime, if you're interested, just send me a PM, and we'll talk it out.

Cheers.

Received my 30ml bottles today! Thanks!

I am rather curious though since I am new to Pelikan inks. In one bottle there seems to be a small black circular object on the inside of the lid in the center of the green ink but it seems the one for the blue ink is missing. What is it and might the one for the blue ink have fallen into the ink?
