I hope this is the right place for this post.

In January 2008, I had a mold problem. One day, I uncapped my tortoise Pelikan 400 to find that mold was growing on the feed. It was white and fuzzy, the kind of mold one expects to see on food items left too long in the fridge. I lost all my sense of proportion and ordered a large shipment of Steril-Ink, along with several other pen-maintenance items, from Tryphon Enterprises. While the Steril-Ink cured the problem of mold, so that I was able to use the pen for many years afterwards (until I lost it during a trip to France [ :(] ), I soon realized that I had ordered too much of the stuff.

A recent post on FPN asking whether Tryphon is still in business (https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/7880-tryphon-ink-additives/) has reminded me of the package sitting in the back of my pen cabinet. I don't know whether any of it is still active, but in case someone wants to experiment with it, here is what I have:

2 little tubes of Ink Safe (about 60-80 percent full, although I don't recall using them);

9 little tubes of Steril Ink (about 90% full)

1 small bottle of Tryphon Scratch Remover;

1 small bottle of Tryphon Pen Polish;

1 small bottle of Tryphon Pen Cleaner/Protectant.

I offer these "as is" to anyone in the U.S. who wants it. I will cover the shipping costs. Please PM me if you're interested. (NB: I don't want to prepare multiple shipments, so I would like to send the entire package to one single person in the U.S.)

My first PIF (I do have one planned already for April):

Shipping : Within the Continental United States (outside of which, you must be willing to pay shipping).

Huashilai 2111 w/ a ... medium nib seems to be the best way to describe it

Jinhao 611 "thin" in Blue with a fine hooded nib

The Huashilai has a permanently attached squeeze filter, while the Jinhao has it's own thinner converter, but can accept standard international cartridges (but not the long/large ones like the waterman because the end of the barrel isn't thick enough).

Also included is two small standard international cartridges, one is Nemosine (OEM) Black, the other is Private Reserve Velvet Black.

Line Width can be seen here on this write sample: http://static.karlblessing.com/reviews/paper/mead_front.jpg

For entry just send me a PM and I'll randomly pick someone On March 28th Friday 11:59 EST

Congratulations, Jeje3325. I did the same thing with my first FPs that came in the mail! You just open that little box and think ' pen, ink paper, pen...ink....paper '.

Nice PIF, WirsPlm.

Although a relative newbie, both on FPN and in the hobby (nine months into it and less than a dozen pens and even fewer inks), I love the spirit of giving and have been greatly inspired by this thread. The number and generosity of the PIFs I see here have only confirmed to me what I had already gathered elsewhere --the fountain pen community is full of quality people! So here goes my first PIF...

Are there any Waterman's Ink lovers out there, and especially fans of their blue-black/ Mysterious Blue?I recently bought two bottles for a ridiculous price in an eBay Buy-It-Now auction, and while I like it well enough, for me 100ml of this color is too much to have on hand at any one time. I also want to buy another blue, but can't get myself to do it knowing I have a two-year supply of this hue alone! So I am offering my new, unused bottle as a PIF. It comes in the box, and has the old label with the wave pattern and the "blue-black ink" color name on it.

The rules? You have to be a member for at least 90 days and, due to the packing and postage required to send a glass bottle of ink, you must be in the CONUS. I'm an equal opportunity giver, so I am not going to require you to have a minimum number of posts, but do want you to post a pic of a thank you note written in the ink as well as then pen used.

Do you want it? PM me with why you like Waterman's ink/ their blue-black color, etc., by midnight EDT on Friday, March 28, and I will pick a winner this weekend!

Dear FPN & PIF Friends,

First of all, I apologize for Posting the winners of the PIF late. Secondly, if any of you have an elderly parent, then you understand one type of family emergency. So, without further delay here are the people selected for:

**PIF# 1: #24; mmkoenecke, congratulations and I'll be in touch with you for your mailing info.**

**PIF# 2: #4; peecee57, congratulations and I'll be in touch with you for your mailing info.**

Thank you to all the other folks that entered. Since I offered this PIF, I've been perusing my stationery closet and roll-top desk ( with all kinds of cubbly holes and internal drawers ), to find I do have other items that would be good for PIFs. Soooo, I will be putting up more in the future.
