Pay It Forward 2014

It is something you use heat to soften so that you can then remove the section when you need to but it is really on there nice and tight. I tried unscrewing it after just 10 minutes and had to stop trying for fear of possibly cracking the section and/or the barrel.

EDIT: ALL TAKEN, THANKS FOR HELPING ME CLEAR UP MY DRAWER! :)

Drawer Clearing PIF

I've just been off from a long hiatus, and have come to the conclusion that I've got more stuff than I need, despite that golden rule of fountain pen collecting:

The optimal number of pens a fountain pen collector/aficionado should own is described in the formula below:

n+1 ; where a is the number of pens a person has

I am and will be therefore selling off a few of my pens, and I've decided to give away a few inks that I have, in hope that they'll be used by someone who writes a lot. (Or you could just dump the ink away and load that ink bottle with your favourite ink, I'm not particular about that. )

I've got two bottles of Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue, one in an old bottle, and another in that medieval looking bottle of theirs.

Other than that, I've got a large bottle of Pelikan 4001 purple and a small bottle of green.

I know many of you have better choices of inks, so I guess it's up for whoever wants it. There is a catch though: those who want them would have to pay for their shipping. I'm really sorry about that. I'll just post it according to how you want it, and I'll mail you a scan of the receipt. I could chip in a little if you find the price too high, just send me a PM and we'll talk about it.

I'll post the pics of them soon, alright? In the meantime, if you're interested, just send me a PM, and we'll talk it out.

Cheers.

Thanks for helping me clear up these inks!

I think next time, I should get those I've sent inks to like write a letter or something back that we can show everyone, how these inks are, how they look and the thoughts of those who got them about these inks. :eureka:

Yesterday I got my PIF from migo984, AND a pen I've been waiting for for over a month. The pen was in rough shape, the victim of many leaks, misaligned tines, came with a cartridge that didn't fit. It's a long way from perfect, but I got it up and running long enough to pen a quick thanks with my PIF.

I have one of those and absolutely love it! Found it NOS. It is definitely one of my fave pens.

Hi all,

Hope everyone is having a great week-end, or what is remaining of the days. Our area is having really nice weather! We have been experiencing some abnormal patterns this season. It was actually nice enough to work in the flowerbeds and yard today.

When people say " Bump ", I think it's " a reminder of PIFs ", so... 'Bump'!

Random drawing will be for PIF #1, March 27th, 12:10 Central Standard Time, US; followed by the drawing for PIF#2 @ 12:20 CST. I will post recipients at approximately 12:45 CST. Good luck and thank you to all that have replied until now. There is time remaining. Just refer to 3/03/14, # 514.

I guess if I like to see these I should put one in. Excuse the penmanship, I'm working on improving that. Paper is cheap RCC Koozie Norwood legal pad with 7mm spacing and Pilot black ink.

And the winner for the Black Pennant is 14sgeorgiev.

No one wanted the green one, but I will send it to anyone interested.

Thanks,

jim

PIF: two Wearever Pennants

1. Black with broad nib. Pen is in decent cosmetic condition and the nib writes smoothly. Needs new sac. This PIF is intended for someone who hasn't installed a sac on a lever filler. The old sac has been removed and the section nipple cleaned.

2. Green with medium nib. Pen is in good cosmetic condition and the nib writes smoothly. Barrel has a slight bend in the area of the fill lever and some widening of the lever slot, which doesn't affect the operation of the fill mechanism. This pen is ready to fill, with a new sac installed. This PIF is intended for someone who doesn't have a fountain pen and wants to give one a try.

Information on Wearever Pennants can be found at this link:

http://www.penhero.com/PenGallery/Wearever/WeareverPennant.htm

Please indicate via private message which pen you want, and I ask that you only pick one. I will use random.org to draw the winning numbers at approximately 9:00 pm EST on March 23. I will ship these pens worldwide at no cost. Good luck.

jim
