Pay It Forward 2014

I'm long overdue for some giving, so here is a PiF for students and/or newbies. Included in this PiF will be a few dozen ink samples that I've had laying around. Some only have enough for a quick dip test others have enough for a few converter fills. I am also tucking in a bottle (maybe more) or ink.

Along with the ink samples I am giving a matte black Sheaffer 100 with a fine nib.

To apply just send me a PM, and I'll use a random number generator to choose a winner this Friday. If you have won a pen in the past few months or have a large ink collection please let someone else have a go at this one, thanks!

Any more interest in this one? I will be drawing tomorrow and haven't had as many entries as I thought I would. Open worldwide.

I would love the pen, but I prefer just to use a few inks as I don't really have the room for the samples, as generous as they are (though I'd love to! :P )

Ah well, good luck with your PIF K Cakes :)

I've had lots of last minute entries, so I will keep this open until Sunday in case others still want to enter. Thanks for being patient!

Would love the ink samples.. But I don't qualify as I am not a newbie and I already have Sheaffer 100.

I'll keep that in mind for my next pif. I have a million inks I could give samples of, I just need to get a few vials...

Howdy,

I'd like to congratulate all of the winners since last time I posted here. Well there is one winner that I might not congratulate as much as the others --- LONE COYOTE! You got " my " Rhodia Themed PIF!, haha. Just teasing. I really like Rhodia products.

And a big thank you to the PIFers. I really like the idea of sharing with others.

Congratulations to all PiF winners and PiF givers! and I'd like to announce the winners of my Indian ED PiF. As usual I had more entries worthy of winning than I have pens, but I've found sort of a solution for that conundrum, too: there will be one runner-up who will get a consolation prize.

And the winners are:

TOMEWILKINSON

SHOCKDUB

And the runner up is PEECEE57.

I liked your messages and your activity on the thread, and that, to me, is as honest a way of choosing a winner as I can think of. Or, I could see a reason to help someone out. The winners will get an ED, as promised. The runner up will receive one extra Indian piston filler left over from my students' practicum. Unused, uninked, untested. The students figured theirs out, so I assume you will, too.

Please PM me your addresses so I can send them out.

Just a reminder, my PIF ends tomorrow. (there are only two entries so far)

I love this forum and the friendliness of everybody here.

In thanks I'd like to PIF a Jinhao 159 and a Hero 395. Both have only been filled once or twice. The Jinhao has a little dent in the cap lip that I just noticed and the aerometric filler in the Hero is stained pink from purple ink (although i don't think that it will alter ink color when filled). The Hero does have the reported soft nib but be aware it really isn't flexy (push it and the tines will stay separated).

I'd like to send the pens to two different people so to enter please pm me and tell me which pen you'd like.

This PIF is open to all, but as a student I can't really afford international shipping, so if you live outside the US you will need to pay for shipping to get the pen to you (sorry  ).

I will pick the winners (if i get more than one entry) with a random number generator Sunday March 9th.

Sorry for the bad picture

I have a Pilot Metropolitan, in silver with the dot pattern, that I really am not using. I bought it to check out what all the fuss was about and to see if I could recommend it to others, especially beginners.

Given that, here's the deal: if you're a beginner and are looking for your first fountain pen (I.e., you don't own one yet), send me a PM and you can have this one. First one gets it; USA only please.

I have a friend who wants one! He's a beginner and this could be his first fountain pen. Got a USA address.

Even i would love to, but i have recently won a PIF and do not want to enter anymore. Although those ink samples are tempting. :)

(*Edit: not like the pen is not)

Thanks for the offer to help, but I'd prefer to give the pen to someone here directly if possible.

I wish I had something to give everyone who entered, but unfortunately there could only be one.
