You'd be surprised... Some people (American's) have trouble saying 'ask'.

Really? On a thread centered around generosity and kindness you find in necessary to patronize, generalize, and insult a nation of over 300 million people for not having the same accent as you? Classy. While we're at it, the pronunciation "ax" is most commonly used in AAVE and Southern American English. Both of which, according to a majority of modern linguistics, are perfectly acceptable forms of English.

I'm long overdue for some giving, so here is a PiF for students and/or newbies. Included in this PiF will be a few dozen ink samples that I've had laying around. Some only have enough for a quick dip test others have enough for a few converter fills. I am also tucking in a bottle (maybe more) or ink.

Along with the ink samples I am giving a matte black Sheaffer 100 with a fine nib.

To apply just send me a PM, and I'll use a random number generator to choose a winner this Friday. If you have won a pen in the past few months or have a large ink collection please let someone else have a go at this one, thanks!

RHODIA THEMED PIF

Up for grabs is a refillable Rhodia Notepad Cover suitable for any standard top-stapled A5 Rhodia pad. The cover is black imitation leather with embossed Rhodia logo, side pen loop and pocket in the inside top cover. It flips open at the top & is the usual Rhodia quality.

I am including a black covered A5 Rhodia dotPad (148 x 210mm), a head-stapled notepad with 80 sheets of extra white, smooth, 80g acid-free, pH neutral, superfine vellum paper. The paper is printed with pale violet dots with 5mm intervals. The pad is micro-perforated along the top for easy page removal.

Finally, I’ve put a Rhodia Pencil into the notepad cover pen loop. It’s a graphite pencil with a triangular, black wood body, exterior painted in Rhodia bright orange with a black eraser tip.

This PIF is open worldwide to everyone, except those who have won a PIF within the past 12 months. Send me a PM if you're interested. I'll select a winner at random.

I will close this PIF at 6pm GMT on Tuesday 4th March

Thanks to everyone who entered my Rhodia PIF. It was very popular and there were a lot of entries for this one.

And the winner is LONE COYOTE. Congratulations!

I'll be putting another PIF up tomorrow.

Whoa! Thanks a lot! I didn't really expected it. And I really don't know what to say.

Thanks again

Black ink? How are you supposed to distinguish the original from a copy?

As I have won 2 PIFs in the last few months I am offering one of my own.

Up for grabs is a notebook I bound pictured here:
http://i61.tinypic.com/2wlwztj.jpg

It has 128 blank pages of 90 gsm Clairfontaine paper, a moderately thick carton cover, a bookmark and is A5 sized.

Along with the notebook I will be offering a Hero 612 pen in red, green or black. The winner can choose the color. The pens have not yet arrived at my house but I will test the chosen pen before sending it out to make sure it functions properly.

http://www.myxinye.com/ebayitem/HERO/612-3.jpg

I was also the lucky winner of a Cultpens Deep Dark Brown 30ml bottle but seeing as it doesn't quite work for me I want someone else to try it out. Therefore my slightly used bottle will go along.

This will be open until March 12. By then I should have the pens and be ready to send it along.

This is open to everyone everywhere but the only thing I ask is that the items will be used. If you find that the pen or the ink don't work for you I ask that you pass them along.

PM to enter as usual!

Wow! There are so many wonderful PIFs being offered at the moment. It's great :)

My PIF this week is a medium (A5) Leuchtturm 1917 Academy Pad.

The Academy Pad has the appearance of a standard Leuchtturm notebook but inside contains a pad with 60 removable sheets of pen-friendly, 5mm ruled, 100gsm paper. It has an elastic closure, inside pocket and labels for the spine and front cover. More details here: http://www.bureaudirect.co.uk/leuchtturm-medium-academy-notepad-a5/p3246

To go with the Academy Pad there is also a matching self adhesive black Leuchtturm Pen Loop. Details here http://www.bureaudirect.co.uk/leuchtturm-pen-loop/p2525

This PIF is open to all, closing on Wednesday 12th March. I will draw the winner using Random.org

The winner of this Maroon Camlin Elegante is ShockDub! They fit the criteria perfectly, being a student who can't afford to spend money on non essentials.

Thank you very much! I will send you the details when I get home but this will be great for a close friend of mine that got mugged recently. I would have loved to ink this baby up and sketch mad crazy, but my friend has nothing. As we study architecture we basically take all types of pencils, leads, color pencils, markers, etc. and since she is out, she will have to buy some more. I will pass this PIF to her because she needs it more than I do and look for something unique to PIF, even if it is not pen related. I will post something in a few weeks.

I hope this doesn't rule me out of other PIFs, but if it does please remove me from any other PIF I have signed onto.

Anways, hopefully i will find something unique from the region and PIF it! Thanks to Kesava for the generosity!

Wish List: TWSBI Diamond 580.

This is awesome, you are paying it forward before you've even received the PIF! haha

So what I'll do is also send you a new Sheaffer No Nonsense that I don't use. It's purple so maybe it might be better to go to her, while you keep the Elegante :)

The winner of this PIF is Tomewilkinson! It sounded like he could really use it and it is a great starter pen to help him get into fountain pens :)

It says volumes for the amount of generosity in this thread when I have to dote over which PIF to enter!

I'm putting together a ink and rhodia grab bag, stay tuned :)

THREE WINNERS POSSIBLE

Here are three Hero 616-style pens (shameless copy of a Parker 51), each free to a good home. All have been dipped and put down a smooth fine wet line. These are uninked otherwise.

A humble offering but I'm delighted to be able to pass them on to folks who might enjoy ownership. Not fancy but perfectly serviceable.

PM and I'll post the names of the first three recipients in the order received. Choice of red, green or black. If your colour is spoken for, I'll send a random pen unless you tell me you ONLY want a certain colour. In that case, I'll simply do my best to match the remaining choices with each "ask".

Mail anywhere in Canada/USA. Cheers!

The only condition is that you make an honest effort to do a PIF yourself sometime in the next decade or so. :)

You can always enter more than one and if you should win you can simply retract your name from the others :)
