Pay It Forward 2014

A lot of generosity in this thread, I especially like how so many items are gifted to new users and students, those who are most strapped for resources.

Cheers to all!

I HAVE CHOSEN A WINNER!

I had nearly 20 entries overnight, and one of them really stood out to me as the most genuine and honest. You all deserve to win but, unfortunately, I only have one gift certificate.

RANDOMTHINKS - you are the winner! Send me your email address by PM and I'll email you the special code. I hope you'll be able to find more time to do what you love doing :)

Thank you to everyone who participated,

Joe

Thank you so much! Joe, PM sent.

I am pretty amazed at the level of friendliness that this forum has. So many places full of negativity, mean spirited sarcasm, and other vitriol these days, especially on the internet, where (relative) anonymity can bring out the worst in people. Thanks to Joe, and to FPN, for this gift and your welcoming spirit.

I promise to make the time to PIF to someone else as well.

Regards,

Keith

Do people often lack the ability to say Vitriol?

You'd be surprised... Some people (American's) have trouble saying 'ask'.

And some people can't use apostrophes correctly. :P. So, I guess I would. I haven't seen vitriol used poorly before. I will keep an eye out for it.

As for ask, it's interesting. Ask was actually "ax" originally, as in Old English, but it shifted to ask by Middle English, and some dialects of English have actually switched back. It's actually the same phenomenon, I think, that causes some people to say hwat instead of what. It was this way originally, but shifted in middle english, and some dialects have either retained it or shifted back.

Relatively new to the forum and back to fp's after a llooonngg hiatus. While unable presently to be more generous I'm willing to share what I do have.

PIF ink samples. In today's mail I received three bottles of Diamine I hope I got a good deal on. I'm offering 3ml of Oxblood, Syrah, Amazing Amethyst and some "vintage" (re: 40 or so year old) Skrip blue/black. I will pick five recipients with one caveat, you must be appreciative!

PM me to enter and I will post winners 2/23/2014.

Just a reminder I will draw Sunday.

BTW would it be fine to put the four samples in one vial? I figure since they are all ink it couldn't matter too much.

Just checking the attention to detail here. :-)

I'm sure that will be fine. If you pour it slowly, the ink will just form separate layers. Like those fancy multi-layer drinks! I don't see anything that could possibly go wrong with your plan.

New Black and Red Premium Note Book PIF

So I have had more interest than I ever thought I would for this PIF a total of 18 entrants. As quite a few PIF’s have closed over the last few days I see no reason to keep this open any longer.

So I did the draw this morning and the winner is y_bauluck from Maritius:

So Yusuf if you could PM your details I will hopefully have posted to you within the next week.

A big thanks to Taz, my orange diamine ink arrived this morning, and very well packed too. I'm looking forward to trying it out later today :)

The ink is more orangey than shown in the photo, it's just like a jaffa orange :)

Just wish my writing was a bit better
