Whoever wins that bottle of Diamine is going to be one lucky Canadian. I've been wanting to try it for a few months now but very rarely have a chance to use red since it's the color my teachers use for grading so i just haven't sprung for a bottle yet. And i live in the U.S. Lol

I can spare a few ml for you to enjoy, pm me your info.

I think you'll love it, it's a very rich color, but as you well know 80ml of ink goes a loooong way. The majority of my writing is business related and that limits my use of it even further. Once I use up a few more sample vials I'll put together 3-4 for a PIF to offer.

Here's a couple pictures of the pen case I made for my PIF winner. I'm not getting back home early enough in the evenings to post it at the moment but I'll try and ship it out as soon as possible.

Wow, I got a lot more interest in my little Frontier than I was expecting! I tossed all 7 names in a list in the order I got the requests and used a random number generator to pick a winner.

Congratulations to loveyouadal. Weather permitting, you should have your new pen this weekend!

Thanks everyone! I'll be back with some samples of Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-Same ink next time I order from the Goulets and can toss some sample bottles in my cart. Maybe some other stuff, too.

I have two black blank A5 (3.5" x 5.5") Rhodia Webnotebooks I'm not going to use. I prefer larger journals and loose sheets of paper. One of the Webbies is still shrinkwrapped, and the other has its first six pages cut out from some personal notes I had written.

Anybody interested should send me one PM with a subject line "Rhodia Webbies Giveaway" by this Sunday, February 16th at 9:00PM EST. I'll add you to the list for both Webbies. I'll do a random number generator to pick two winners, each receiving a Webbie. I'll post here Sunday night to note that winners have been drawn, and I'll contact those winners for shipping addresses shortly thereafter.

Good luck, everybody. :)

Hello FPN,

I've been lurking these forums for over a year and a half without posting (I'm not a very sociable sort!) and I've always had a soft spot for the PIF threads. It just seems like an incredibly cool and kind thing to do! So I thought, for my first post, I would offer up some pens and ink that, upon my mission to thin the herd a little, ended up on the chopping block.

http://i.imgur.com/cYaiyEJ.jpg

From top left to bottom:

Diamine Oxblood: Near-full bottle. Used up maybe 5mL at the very most.

J. Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite: While the original bottle is very pretty, it is probably the least functional bottle I've ever used, so I would put the ink into this old and much more functional Pelikan 4001 bottle. This bottle is nearly full, so there is about 30mL of ink in there. Please pardon the sloppy writing on the makeshift label. (e: I forgot to mention before, but this is a bottle of the OLD formulation of Rouge Hematite, in all its sheening and clogging goodness, which may change your mind for the better or the worse)

Jinhao Dragon's Offspring: Pen works well, not too much wear on the body. However, the dragon on the clip is missing one of its eyes, and a bit of plating is wearing off the nib. It writes perfectly fine, though, and comes with a converter. The nib is unmarked, but I'd say it writes like a Medium (and if you don't like the nib, it is easily removed and replaced with another #6 nib). The only reason I'm offering this pen up is that it is simply too heavy for me to use!

Cross Aventura (Blue and Chrome, M nib): Writes very well, almost no wear whatsoever save for a few micro-scratches. Doesn't come with a converter, but I removed the pesky spring out of the end of the barrel, so it will fit the push-style Cross converter. Nothing wrong with the pen, I just don't use it or like it enough to warrant keeping it.

Platinum Cool (Clear, F nib): I tried to like this pen, especially since I've enjoyed all the other Platinum pens I've used, but we simply didn't get along. Hopefully you'll like it more! It writes like a Western EF and while it isn't really a semi-flex nib, it does have a little give to it. I used this one the most of the three pens here, so there are some small scratches on the body/cap and a teeny-tiny bit of ink behind the cap insert, but I've otherwise taken very good care of it. I've taken the converter for one of my other Platinum pens... but to make up for that, I will throw in two black Platinum cartridges I haven't (and probably will never) use.

I'm offering this PIF to Canadian citizens only, to keep shipping costs down. First winner gets their pick of the lot, then the rest will be offered to the second, then the third, and so on! I would also prefer these go to a high school/college/university student, and/or an individual who is very new to the fountain pen hobby and has three or fewer pens of their own... but if too few people enter, I will open it up to all Canadians. Please PM me and tell me why you would like to win this PIF. The deadline is Monday, February 17th.

Good luck!

What an amazing and generous PIF! While new to fountains pens and Canadian I think this is a fantastic opportunity for a student. Good luck!

I have an extra TWSBI Vac 700 nib that I would like to offer up. It may be in need of a minor tweaking of the times, but otherwise it is in good condition. This is part of my culling of all things Vac700 and my final offer in the classifieds will be an amber unit with a broad and a medium nib. No sense in having two broad nibs, so I will offer it here.

PM me a bit about your interest and I'll draw later in the week.

I will leave this open until Sunday evening, not much interest thus far.

The post above should not be regarded as the absolute and undeniable truth and facts as it may contain the garbled mutterings of an overworked, stressed and nonsensical student who may or may not be on the brink of insanity.
Please regard her with ten grains of salt and stay out of arms reach and at least ten metres away.

Much obliged,

I'm jealous of whoever wins Drakonis('s?) demonstrator. I've always been interested in one, but aside from this platinum preppy that is a bit too Fine for me, I've never used one. I'll probably PIF it but i feel as it's not a pen worth PIF'ing because of the low cost on it. I wish I was canadian right about now. First Tim Horton's now this?! D:

Tim Horton's is in much of the United States, and is literally no better than any other bakery/coffee place. Don't worry about it. What you are really missing out on are 2 things: ketchup chips and Diana sauce. That's it.

Oh, and Bulk Barn.
