I received the PIF from user drlizdub the other day (well, a few days ago really)

Drlizdub has been very generous indeed and send me not one but three pens:

The initial Jinhao 159,

A Jinhao X450

and a Noodlers' eyedropper pen.

Also 4 vials of ink samples, Aurora Black (currently being test-driven in the eyedropper, Diamine Magenta (in Jinhao 159 (such glow, much swag indeed)) and 2 vials of Rohrer &Klingner iron galls (I'm scared)

I was surprised, the 159 is bulky of course but strangely comfy even when posted. (Too bad I will give it to a coworker/friend)

So thank you again to drlizdub. I am in awe. Also I will spread some of the happiness around later.

(And I have a PIF running as well, remember? (Currently I am also collecting goodies for that)

Just saying, but according to Brian Goulett, they're FP safe :3 I myself have ordered one of their iron galls ^^

The pens should go in the mail today providing I don’t forget it, I have CRS syndrome so no promises. (CRS ???, use your imagination)

I dissembled the pen for shipment because roller balls like to leak.

So as they say,” some assembly required ”!

First a few precautions,

Locate the closest fire extinguisher. THIS IS A 100% MATTER PRODUCT: In the unlikely event that this pen should contact antimatter in any form, a catastrophic explosion will result.

Disclaimer,

There is an extremely small but nonzero chance that, through a process known as "tunneling," this pen may spontaneously disappear from its present location and reappear at any random place in the universe, including your neighbor's domicile. I will not be responsible for any damages or inconvenience that may result.

So here are precise assembly directions:

Although no tools are needed, I personally like to keep the first aid kit handy, or even better have my wife on 911 standby!

1, Unpack the parts, Care should be taken when lifting this pen, since its mass, and thus its weight, is dependent on its velocity relative to the user.

2, put the thingy in the duhicky, careful not to mix up the innie and the outie. (Don’t force), jam it in.

3, Take the innie assembled duhicky and (don’t jam! ) force it into the outie whatchamacallit.

4 WOLLA! you’re done!

Troubleshooting,

The most common problem is you forgot to say the “4 letter” magic word, contently while fiddling with the part. Without this chant it won’t work, believe me, I have tried!

Despite my wife effort not to encourage me I still can make her laugh. Actually I am surprised I haven't been voted off the island!

Dear Fellow FPNers,

Thinning the herd of inks, I have a few I would like to PIF:

Waterman Violet 50ml

J.Herbin Eclat de Saphir 30ml

Diamine Registrars Ink 30ml

Diamine Light Green 30ml

Diamine Poppy Red 30ml

Diamine Teal 30ml

All were purchased in 2011, except the Diamine Teal which was 2013. The Waterman is the older style box/bottle before the name change. Looking at them tonight, I don't see any SITB.

I've only taken 2 or 3 fills from each, except the Diamine Poppy Red which is only about half full (mixing experiment).

I realise all these inks have their admirers; these particular ones, I just don't ever use/won't use again & would rather someone appreciate them.

I am in the UK and will only ship to the UK (England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland) + IoM + Channel Islands. Repeat, I will only ship to the UK (England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland) + IoM + Channel Islands.

If interested, please PM me, picking a number between 1 and 100. I will look at PMs to about 12:00 GMT Sat 29 Nov (hopefully I'll get replies, I want to get these gone).

I will get a random number from random.org this weekend. The winner will be the number closest. In case of a tie, I will get another random number, etc.

Thanks for looking....

I received the Blue Cashmere powdered ink from the dear Amberlea today. Even the foil packet containing the powder is a lovely shade of blue.

Thanks again, counselor!

Yup - Inky singing "I'm hopelessly devoted to you" to a Penman bottle...loved it.

I will take your advice and check out reviews for ideas before I mix it up.

And today....in honor of Scuba Steve sending me pens and tea...and his great sheeny posts...

But I've been asked... What are these ink powders?

This should help answer the question. The powders were developed by Black Stone Ink company and sent to me for testing. Because I love to share the experience, I opened it up to others in this thread. More than 50 FPNers helped test the first four batches of powdered inks - Amber, Balls, Cashmere and Diamond. Here are the results of those tests, sorted by color.

Blue

Blue Batch A = Blue Amber

Blue Batch B = Blue Balls

Blue Batch C = Blue Cashmere

Blue Batch C version 2 = Too Blue Cashmere

Blue Batch D = Blue Diamond

Black

Black Batch A = Black Amber

Black Batch B = Black Balled

Black Batch C = Black Cat

Black Batch D = Black Diamond

Green

Green Batch C = Green Cashmere

Green Batch D = Green Diamond

Red

Red Batch C = Red Cashmere

Red Batch D = Red Diamond

After those tests, only the Cashmere line was distributed for further testing. Attendees of the Toronto Pen show were given three of the Cashmeres (Black, Red and Blue) and beta testers known as the SuperPInks were given sachets of four inks to test (Black, Red and Magic). The Green Cashmere suffered a mixing meltdown and ended up being Magic. Each sachet of Magic is a different color AND it changes color as it dries. ITS DANG COOL and will never be made again.

As for the name SuSeMai - Blackstone was originally the SUper SEcret MAker of Ink. Blackstone said it like Toshiba - like Sue See Mah. DCPritch who thought it was funny that I'm an attorney by day and ink tester by night, says it as So Sue Me. The rest of us just call it AWESOME INK POWDER.

Now... on to the PIF:

First one to PM me with a name and address...

Susemai / Blackstone / Ink Powder

1 Sachet of RED Cashmere.

Rules: If not within the US, you pay actual shipping. You cannot have already won one of these inks.

There's THAT color again! I asked about it before, but entirely lost the thread.. What IS IT? a gold-green? or what?

Here it was at three different concentrations.
