Dear Fellow Penthusiast,

I would like to introduce you with Scrikss 419 fountain pen. Scrikss is a Turkish brand which made its production in Turkey about 70's. It was very popular back then. Nowadays they have the production mostly in China. 419 is considered a vintage pen since it is hard to find right now. The pen is quite similar to Pelikan M150 and M200. A piston filler, screw capped, daily workhorse.

It is a light pen with a smooth nib. Works out of box immediately. Has a medium flow. There is no indication on the nib. But it writes just between Medium and Fine

Interesting pen. Do you know if it was it exported much.

Just wondering if it would be found at all on American (North, South & Central) side of the Atlantic?

Dear brgmarketing,

Unfortunately it is really hard to find it since it is not produced anymore. But according to the rumours, Scrikss intends to manufacture it again.

I have a Scrikss 71. It is a very well made pen. I wish this brand was more widely available.

I really like them though. Like a piston filler Parker 51 except they don't offer or let's say they was not offering nib choices. I also have a review of iti if you would like to check http://www.banasikcayaz.com/2012/07/scrikss-vintage-17-and-71-fountain-pens.html

Nice review of a lesser known pen (at least to me, it is).Thank you!

Thanks pictogramax,

It is the most common brand in Turkey but unfortunately a less-known pen. I guess the reason why the company was in hibernation for a while but they decided to resurrect. I hope they will be coming with more classic pens.

I got my Scrikss 477 from Andy's pens. I think its great value for money and I writes very smooth gvfm.

Generally the nibs are quite smooth but they don't offer any other sizes. I am glad you liked it.

I also got mine from Andy's Pens. My 477 is a good writer and well balanced pen.

I only have two pens - an Aurora Optima and others.
