wow. These are beautiful, and mechanically/historically interesting to me. I had no idea.

 

Revealing about some of the ways people were living, writing, and so on at the time. Ut oh, another curiosity to investigate when I should be going other things.

 

Passersby who are reading this and have more tips about where to look for more information, that would be great. My internet searches have been very unsatisfactory.
