Inkuary..a Challenge To Movember

Personal Opinion,

My worst nightmare would be someone choosing a black ink for a month. To me it is the most boring colour available.

Black I can do. Pink would be awful! Ok, maybe an invisible ink would be worse. :) It would certainly make writing times interesting.

I think that it would be interesting to do this. I'll have to get my list of inks together and post them later.

I have so many inks that I am embarrassed to post them here. Instead, I will post brands and colors.

Aurora: black

De Atramentis: black, black-brown, blue, purple

Diamine: blue-black, brown, green-black, orange, purple, red, deep dark (blue, red, green, brown, purple)

J. Herbin: red, green

Levenger: black, blue, pink, purple, red, teal

MB: black, blue-black, blue, brown, gray, green, red, permanent black, permanent blue

Parker: black

Iroshizuku: blue-gray, brown, gray, green, purple, black, orange, pink, red

Pilot: blue

Platinum: black

PR: black, purple, blue

R&K: black, purple

Waterman: black

Akkerman: red, green, blue-black, brown, gray, blue, purple, black

Noodler's: invisible, black, red-black, blue, blue-black

I need to use the choice of ink for personal writing. I need to use something more permanent for work.

Ren, I bid £3.50 for you to use Diamine Oxblood for the month.

Oxblood sounds quite easy for me to cope with :)

I thought you would go mean and choose another colour like Diamine Coral :)

I wonder if we should cross post to fpgeeks as they are running Incowrimo for Feb as well?

Or should we opt for another month?

February works for me, and I am doing both. I started you with Oxblood, others may bid higher and with less nice colours. Remember people are bidding on my ink also.

Any thought on which charity yet?

Sounds great to me. Will we send money to you and you transfer to them to reduce PayPal cut?

I wonder if we will get enough for a full box to go out.

This sounds like a fun challenge! Do I need to join the Facebook page to participate in this event and to get more info? I am a university student so it might be best if I use more modest colors, but with that being said I haven't had a professor complain about Noodler's Apache Sunset so far, so maybe I could still use the more fun colors. If this event is happening in February I should probably wait to list the possible inks that I could use so I can get a feel for what my new professors will be like and their opinions on colors that aren't blue or black.

So I met with my professors and I feel that since there will be a lot of important things i'll have to turn in I don't feel comfortable using some of the brighter colors I own like Diamine Red Dragon and Wild Strawberry or J.Herbin Rose Cyclamen and Bouqet D'Antan and Noodler's Apache Sunset. Hopefully you will all allow me to continue with this even with my more modest colors!

The inks currently in my possession are:

Diamine: Bilberry, China Blue, Chocolate Brown, Damson, Grape, Majestic Blue, Sapphire Blue, Sargasso Sea, Sherwood Green,

Lamy: Black, Green

Montverde: Blue-Black

Noodlers: Baystate Blue, Baystate Concord Grape, Black Swan In Australian Roses, Kung Te-Cheng, Turquoise, X-Feather

Pelikan: Royal Blue, Violet

Private Reserve: Purple Haze, Tanzanite

Sailor: Sei-Boku

Sailor Jentle: Blue, Ultramarine

Sheaffer: Turquoise

Watermen: Blue-Black

That sounds like a sensible plan.I will bid £2.00 for you to use Diamine chocolate brown for the month. I have a new appreciation of its shading properties in the right pen.

Hello, I would definitely say that changes can be made to anything until the start of February. I think it makes sense to not be tied into a pen until the ink is finalised as it is best to make sure that the ink and pen complement each other. I am hoping that the bids do not stop where they are and more people bid on the ink choices.

Please can we have more bids :) I am now trying to work out how I can deal with a letter of complaint if I have Alt Goldgruin. Yes I know green is a good complaining colour, but not that green. I also have to write to someone about their narrow minded ideas of ink colours and that would not be my preferred choice. So someone please bid more!!!

My plight is not helped by also doing incowrimo so I have many letters to write.

Please be nice to me!

Well, I think I am going to up one of my bids :ninja:

Ren, I bid you £10 to use Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black for the whole month of February. See it as retribution for the R and K.

Happy Days.

Thank you for that wonderful bid, I will happily accept Beethoven as my ink for the month. I am going to put it in my Pelikan M200 that I got last month. I am sure we will be happily married for the month.
