Special Purchase Part 2 - Duke Lux Models $22 & Under

These aren't our usual territory, but we did come across a nice trove of Duke models from a few years ago. These are well made, resin and metal construction, and the nibs we've tried have been very smooth. (They all seem to have to same medium-fine nib.)

Most are cartridge/converter pens, but a few have built in aerometric filling systems.

These are classically styled and some of them are rather eye catching. With the classy Duke deluxe packaging, they'd make great gifts.

We're offering them at prices which include free domestic US shipping. For some models, we'll give you the option to save a few dollars by declining the heavy Duke packaging and just having your pen shipped in a sturdy cardboard box protected by bubble wrap.

We picked up some more Duke models and will be sliding them onto the web site over the next week. Most steel nibbed models will be under $25 and a couple under $15 if you skip the fancy box.

New models with steel nibs include:

Duke 2009 (aka Charlie Chaplin Tribute) -- very stout and stylish ($28)

Duke 9006 -- a neat blue matte barrel and a nib like a Parker Arrow ($22)

Duke/Uranus 309 -- sleek metal pen with a conical nib ($24)

  • http://www.peytonstreet.com/pens/misc%20brands/uranus_309fp_5.jpg

Duke Ruby -- pretty filigree cap, and we've read the ruby is real (??) ($20)

These four models went on the web site tonite. We only have a few of each model.

The following 14k and 18k models are queued up for photography and will start appearing soon. We'll have some interesting pens with unusual designs and a few with the "art pen" Duke nib, all at pretty crazy prices.

  • Duke Imperator
  • Duke Magnate
  • Duke Dream World
  • Duke Rhyme Star
  • Duke Formula 1

Please note these pens are not our typical fare, we just happened on a really good one-time deal and wanted to pass it on to our customers. (In some cases, quantities are limited to only a handful.)

Some of our regulars are concerned that we are moving away from vintage, but please don't worry -- that's where our hearts lie. That being said, we like the value offered by these pens, especially for those looking for their first fountain pen or a first one for a friend. We'll stand behind them, just as we do with our vintage/restored and new old stock pens.

Happy new year!
