Seeking Something New In A Journal...

Has anyone tried Exacompta Journals, the ones with the quill on the cover? Do you like them and are they good with fp ink? I am finding my standard, Moleskine getting way too variable, ie some are outstanding, the last bunch however, have been miserable.

Best,

Edward

Those Exacompta ones are great! The paper is SO thick, it's amazing, and it handles ink very well. The downside is that the paper is laid, so there is a texture to the paper, in case that is an issue for you. If you write in small text, I advise against the lined one, as the lines are very very wide apart.

Thanks for reply Saskia! Line width is not a concern so much as bleedthrough and feathering. The last batch of Moleskine has been horrible in this regard. I have heard so much good about Exacompta, I had to ask. Thanks again.

Nice to hear!

What do you use for your ink reviews??? That's a fascinating notebook.

Actually, I use an Exacompta journal, but the pages are nowhere near as thick as the Basics line. The one I use is a special order item I get from the local pen store, and it's brutally expensive - between $60 and $80, I can't remember exactly. But it's hard cover, it has nice paper and it's no margins; the pages are lined and numbered. Although I like it, I'll probably just buy a CF regular soft cover one in the future.
