As I have said in prior post, the quality is horrible. The two I bought started to crack on the bottom black part. Ink was also not blue but a light purple. Also stated "For sale in India only". Plus return shipping to India is so high that you can't get your money back, but will add at least $20 to your purchase amount if you return.

I was not impressed with the small number of Vectors and Frontiers I got from India but the Betas seem fine. I got the impression that Parker/Luxor was trying to get the quality up on that pen, perhaps with an eye to making more Parker pens in India for sale worldwide. If that happens, presumably returns will be handled by whomever currently handles that if you buy a Parker made in France. For now, the Beta is so cheap that, like most Chinese pens on eBay, it is hardly worth bothering to return. And since the Beta is meant for the India market I think we should expect any warranty might not be honored elsewhere as with grey market cameras. Ultimately the choice may be Parkers from India or Parkers from China.

I think the marketing agreement with Parker would specify that they could not sell the Indian product worldwide.

Imagine the difference in cost of production between an Indian and French made sonnet.

I was thinking of an article I read some time ago and I am not sure I remember every detail clearly but the impression I got was the the low cost of production in India was why the long term goal was to end production in France and make all the pens in India, selling them worldwide, probably at the same price they asked for the pens made in France. But first they had to obtain better quality in India. In any case, the article was in the sort of publication read by business people and investors, not pen hobbyists.

I have only one indian Parker. A Sonnet firedance version. I bought the pen in used condition. It has no mention of country of origion. And the build quality on this pen is at par with that on French Sonnets.
