Hi Everyone.

Thanks again for all your responses. He re-worked the design, and the 9 or 10 pen stands are out. I suppose he could still put those together too if someone requested them. I will be posting these in the classifieds as well.

Here is the result. Hope you all like them. As per your recommendations, a five-pen stand, in dark or light finished oak with a choice of red, black or green wool felt.

$75 CAD (Canadian) shipped anywhere in the world. Comments of course are always welcome!

I really like the second version much better. 5 pen is a good choice, and the different color felts look great too, and the price is good. Here's a thought; how about a black lacquered one with red felt? I do black lacquer a lot, and it really looks cool on open grained oak. It can be bought in aerosal cans too, so no mixing.

I'm sure he would be fine doing a black lacquer version for you. I would just have to convince him that he wouldn't have to worry about doing white, orange, stone speckle... : ) If you do purchase one, just make a note of that in your payment details.

I also think a 3 pen holder in dark walnut or black lacquer with a sand colored felt would be nice since most acrylics with designs and pens of most colors would look nice against this color. What would be the cost of a 3 pen holder? Do you place felt "feet" on the bottom to protect tabletop surface? How would one pay you in Canadian money (checks, Pay Pal, Money Order) and get exchange rate correct? What would shipping be to East Coast of USA? Your product looks nice and useful.

What are the dimensions on those 5 pen stands?

Hi dreg.

The dimensions of the stand are 3" wide (minimum pen length for stability), 6" high, and 4 ½" in depth.

Finally!!

Wow, it took a long time to finally arrive at a black that we were truly satisfied with. We experimented with with sever "black" lacquers before finally arriving at a true "ebonizing" process involving iron oxidation. This process however perfectly retains all of the original oak grain as you can see...

Thank you to all of you who have suggested this color. They really look great!

They are in the classifieds. I don't think I can link you to them, but a search should do it.
