Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Gorgeous (as always) Amber - thank you! This is one I had a sample of ages ago: I keep *nearly* biting the bullet and buying a full bottle, but the Iroshizuku inks are so pricey, and there are so many on my wishlist, that a full bottle has not made its way into my desk drawer yet. I'm still wavering. Maybe in January.

MY EYES! :gaah:

Seriously though, very nice ink. Vibrant as you say, but the color change is amazing.

My daughter likes this ink a lot so I have a bottle. I agree with all your findings. It's laughable they call it red at all.

I've been using this ink for a while, and while I agree that it's generally not what I call red, my experience has been that the color can vary quite a bit depending on the pen. I won't pretend to know why.

In my Pilot Custon 74 an dPiloy VP the color looks red bordering on pink, like in Amber's scans above. But if I put this into my Pelikan M215 it looks very much like a fire-engine red when wet, and dries to a deeper red that I can easily confure with Rouge Hematite. In my Visconti Opera Elements is looks red when wet and dries to an orange-red.

I like the way it handles, and it was actually the ink that made me fall in love with my Pelikan M215.

I agree that it looks different depending on the paper and pen. The first two scans show that difference to some degree, but look at the huge difference on #715 - seriously looks red at the top.

Glad you have fallen in love with your Pelikan.
