Hi,

I found this Lady Sheaffer in my house today- it has a rather wide stub nib, which has come detached from the feed and section. Does anyone know how it should be reattached? It does not seem to screw on in any way.

Little bit of threading, and a dose of shellac to keep it there and prevent leaks. The problem is, it's a much wiser idea to entirely dismantle the section so the shellac doesn't get into the feed and so feed and point can be aligned.

Oh, good heavens. He's got a blog now, too.

Ernst is right, though I might be inclined to use thread sealant instead of shellac, though shellac should be OK. The other reason for removing the feed is that you have to align the feed with the nib after tightening the nib in on the shell. You have to remove the connector at the back end to do this, and should replace the 0-ring inside. If the threads on the front are broken off or stripped, I can replace the section for you with a new one.

I realize it's an older thread...but I just got my first Lady Sheaffer (II) and it's perfect, except the clutch ring is a little loose and spinny, which allows the cap to spin when it's on. Not a huge deal, but I assume they're not supposed to do this. I think the easiest solution is a little shellac or similar under the ring and that;ll fix it in place, but I wonder, is it just loose and a tightening (of something?) in order?

Thanks!

Matt

So as I was cleaning and trying to make a converter out of a small syringe, the nib and feed of my lady skripsert became misaligned. Now when I tighten the feed up the nib is at right angles to where it should be. How do I "...remove the connector at the back end to do this, and should replace the 0-ring inside. " and then align everything up?

I have attached a pic of my fountain pen nib, and the converter I made :-)

Any help would be appreciated.
