Lamy Safari 2014?

I have to admit that while this is true, it also makes me very sad. I might have to buy the Hero just for the color.

 

I did buy the Hero just for the color. I'm hoping that it DOES inspire Lamy make the purple to spite the Hero knock off. FYI, the Hero is pretty nice with a great nib. But it just doesn't have the same feel of the Safari. See my review of this pen at isellpens.com.

I'll be excited to pick up a blue-green Al-Star when they become available.

Living in the southwest a matte finish desert color like sage, cactus or adobe would be appealing.

Indeed, the satin finish always ends scratched and doesn't show time passed or the use of the owner, just sloppiness in taking care of the pen... that doesn't happen with the textured plastic, it gets softer and shinier with use and in time, 'almost' the same feeling that makrolon gives with the Lamy 2000.

 

I don't like either the rhodium clips, but doesn't look bad at all on a charcoal Safari:

My ideal Safari for 2014 would be a Vista with black clip, nib and a polished embroidered logo!

I have a charcoal Safari & my wife has a white one. I much prefer the texture on the charcoal.

 

I'd like to see the option of picking out which color clip goes on the pen. Otherwise a black clip on a yellow or red background would look great.

I really am hoping for a more earthy colour; I passed up on the Neon because it was too garish, and now I need my new Safari fix!

Waiting here, too. Wanted a lime/apple green Safari, but the going price is $40+ so..... The 2014 Al-Star blue-green is lovely. An earthy color for the Safari would be nice - another neon color doesn't really interest me, but guess we have to wait and see what they come up with.

 

Is Lamy NEVER going to announce - and make available - the 2014 Special Edition color?? They had to have decided what it would be and have begun production of it by the end of last year, at least so I would think, so they would be ready for the 2014 demand....

They have announced the LE Nexx (orange), Al Star (blue green).

 

In the German site the Econ (a ballpoint) in 6 new colors and the Swift (a rollerball) in 2 LE colors (white and chocolat).

 

 

Lamy has worked very hard to bring new things, I think they might delay the release of the 2014 Safari LE, a little.

I believe that, usually, the Safari LE was announced before the Al Star.

 

 

This year, Lamy might have chosen to reverse the process given the appearance of the pink Safari and Nexx to the regular production line, much to the delight of many pink fans, including yours truly.

 

 

I think they should add the previous Safari LE, in teal, to the regular production line. That would almost complete the basic colors offered in many stationery item and electronic products. All is needed is a purple.

 

Future Safari LE should have a textured feel to make them look more sophisticated, they are collectible after all.

 

 

In case Lamy is reading this, I would love to see Lamy offering BB nibs with all its LE Studios, that would be great!
