Problem With Speedball Oblique And Zebra Nibs

from iampeth.com website, i found that i need to align the tip

of my nib with the axis of the holder, ( sounds reasonable enough )
However, the nib is ALREADY inserted as far as it will go.
Yet it protrudes over the axis.

My Nikko nib is also the same situation...

I think its Speedball design problem.
What do you think ?

It is indeed the way Speedball designed their holder. It will work fine, but it's not quite ideal. If I were you, I would just get a holder with a brass flange.

I would also recommend a quality wooden holder if you're serious about Spencerian or copperplate, but in the meantime it might just be possible to saw off the end of the Speedball flange to allow the nib to go right through it. Or use a standard-size nib instead. I'm not a fan of the Nikko or other G nibs – I think they're too rigid – so I'd go for the EF Principal.

I would suggest the PaperInkArts oblique holder, which will hold mostly every nib ever. If you want to adjust the rake angle (Angle at which the nib makes contact with the paper, based on the flange's angle) however, I would suggest the Century oblique holder, where you can adjust the flange to fit any nib.
