Vintage Caw's Pen And Pencil

Hi guys!

Just acquired this set of vintage CAW's pen and pencil, in its original box. I have read some articles about CAW's, here on FPN. But I am not sure how I can distinguish this from the CAW's pens that have been made bij Burnham (although I recon this one to be first decade of 20th century).

Anyways, I wanted to share this one with you vintage fans out there! :D

Best

I would love to learn more about Caw's later history in Europe.

I collect earlier Caw's pens: hard rubber eyedroppers, safety and stylographic pens. These are all USA-made, from the 1890s to the very early 20th century.

As far as I know, there is no overlap in production between the USA Caw's and the European Caw's. In fact, there seems to be a gap of at least a couple of decades: I have never seen a European Caw's earlier than the 1930s, which is the period of the set shown above.

A big question is if the Caw's name was sold or transferred in any official way from its original owners to whomever ended up producing the European Caw's pens. Given how long the production gap seems to be, it may have been that the original trademark registration simply expired, and was then re-registered by someone with no connection to the original firm (just as we have seen happening nowadays with "revived" companies such as Conway Stewart, Conklin, Onoto, Wahl-Eversharp, etc).
