Old cotton T-shirt cloth to wipe the section. If the nib surface needs excess wiped off, I use a piece of soft chamois leather.

I have found that leather chamois do a great job of wiping excess ink from the section/nib after filling quickly leaving a very clean dried surface and without the ink bleeding through or transferring from a paper towel or cotton rag onto my fingers. Not that that's a bad thing!

I use small 5x7 artists chamois that I picked up at Micheal's.

I use soft kitchen paper towels. My thinking here is that the paper towel is softer than the paper I will be writing on so, why not?
