Midori Passport Clone

Recommended Posts

I ordered 2 a couple of mos back in passport size. Great customer service. Finished in 2 days shipped Air and in New Mexico in about a week. Beautiful materials and craftsmanship. I'm quite pleased with mine, one for work and the other for all non work related items. Go for it, you won't be sorry. Usual disclaimers, no affiliation, just a very happy user. Jim

Your work is very inspiring Ted A.
I also made my own Traveler´s Notebook.
I got some leather examples from a nice turkish businessman in my neighbourhood.
This leather pieces have the perfect size for a handmade notebook.
It is my polaroid foto album. Now I have two, the original one passport size (right) and my new handmade one.
I will produce two more with the leather examples black and red.

I have left the edges a little long I was thinking of adding a pen holder to the front.

Thanks

Cool, inkwritingman. How did you get the stripes on the darker one?

The stripes on the original passport size notebook are made with washi tape.

I want to have with 3 stripes a little bit of ADIDAS feeling.

I received my Passport clones today. It arrived in 10 days all the way from merry old England. Let me say this, they are fantastic. They come preloaded with paper. The smaller one comes with two notebooks, one lined and one one graphed. The larger one comes with three notebooks. One without lines, one lined, and a day planner. I am extremely pleased with both and will be ordering some more in the future as spares. Here are the little goodies.

I am currently running a PIF for one of these clones in the dark red/brown colour. It finishes tonight (at 7pm GMT)

PM me if anyone wants to enter the draw at the last minute.

It would seem as if beat up is better with these. Inkwritingman some of yours look like they've been through a year of hiking through the wilderness. I like that appearance a lot.

Here is my second effort this is a full size I am making it for a friend so with that in mind I have used full grain leather for the outside and lilac suede for the inside.

I know they are not normally lined but I wanted to put my own twist on this.

Does anybody here have the 'dark brown' version? I was wondering if it came out similar to the brown Midori. The pictures on ebay are not that helpful.

May I ask why you gave it away? Did you have the chance to compare it to a genuine Midori?

I give away lots of stuff I don't use :-) I don't have a genuine Midori to compare it to. They're not my kind of thing. But I do buy a lot of different stationery and I think the clone was very good quality for the price. The inserts weren't brilliant but I expect you'd want to buy additional ones anyway.

That looks great, Michael! I've only made passport sized ones so far but I think I'm going to try making a bigger one, too.
