I have had one of those take a deep breath moments this afternoon the blue note book pen case needed to be joined together and I have been looking at it and trying to figure out how I was going to do it.

So this is what I came up with I clamped two pieces of wood at 90 degrees to each other on a board the dry fit worked so I wet the inner piece as I wanted it to take the shape,

I have done a little embossing with suede before but never in leather the last time I was in the leather store one of the staff was showing me pictures of some embossing that he had done so I thought I would have a go,

Not bad for a first effort I am quite happy with it (I hope ALC3261 is too) hopefully it stays in place when it dries out.

When everything is dry I will trim the edges and shape the end.

Thanks for looking

Thanks TinJapan your case is almost ready.

Whilst I was having a break the other week I did a little online shopping and came across some small pieces of leather in red and purple.

While I was waiting for glue to dry I started to put a case together

I have started to put it together this leather is quite fine so there is a full leather case underneath this leather.

The next project to finish is the black ten pen case this has been sitting on my desk I was unhappy with the straps that hold it closed but also work when the case is open to secure the case in the upright position.

This morning I cut off the old straps which I had stitched across which had in effect perforated the straps weakening them when I started making a new template I thought they were a little too small so I made the template larger.

I this picture you can see the old strap and the replacement.

A project very well done, Michael!

The standing case turned out very well, I think. It is certainly unique, and looks very professional. I know there were a lot of intriguing spots of creative thinking with this case.

Thank you for sharing this one with us!

I really love this case, Michael. Very beautiful, very polished, and yet so different with all those creative touches. It should be wonderful to use, for many years. And having it stand up to present the pens is really brilliant.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments today I turned my attention to the red ten pen case to recap the red leather pen slots are glued to the black suede which in turn has been glued to another piece of leather to give some stiffness.

Here you can see the black suede with its leather backing I have fitted the upper part of the catch to the inside the lower part will be fitted to the outer cover before both parts are joined together

I need to finish sewing the pen slots to the suede first.

I have now passed the halfway point with the sewing on the red case I am restricting myself to a little each day I find sewing difficult but somehow quite relaxing

For my next project I have been asked to make a three pen case.

Thanks

I love the red color. So many shades, and the design is really elegant. Whoever this one's for, you'll have a very beautiful and special pen case... Enjoy!

Thanks mhguda

The red case belongs to Fuchsiaprincess and will be making its way to her next week along with a few other items she has fallen for :)

Everything is together now just allowing the glue to go off.

It needs edging and a couple of things sorting before it goes into its box ready for shipping.

Thanks for looking

I have made some mistakes with these 10 pen cases and would do things a little differently should I ever make another.

This case uses the Red pierced and embossed leather

I still need to work on my stitching.

Green case with white stitching is also in its final stages

13983015579_3bcb8f93c5_c.jpgIMG_7301_1 by my0771, on Flickr

I dyed the finished edges of this case green but for some reason when the dye dried it was black very strange so I finished it with black edge kote and bees wax.

Again my stitching could do with a little work.
