Beautiful Notebooks By Bomo Art, Hungary

I placed an order a couple of days ago. There was no way to pay on their website, I got a message saying that I would get an e-mail with payment information. I still haven't received an e-mail. Did anyone else have this problem?

They emailed me with the amount including shipping, then gave me options to pay by Paypal, via their bank's credit card payment site, or bank draft.

Thanks for the info. How long did it take for them to get back to you? Sounds like they provide a more personalized service, something many people arent't used to in our fast paced computerized world.

I sent an e-mail to Bomo Art on Tuesday, January 7th, I sent a follow up e-mail to them on Wednesday. I haven't had a response, what e-mail address have others used, perhaps I have the wrong e-mail address?

How long dot it take to receive a reply to your e-mails? Does it actually take a week or more, or did they reply within one or two days?

I appreciate the help.

Hi Anne,

It shouldn't take a week or longer. If you're using facebook you could try contacting them there, maybe they're closed for holidays or whatever...? They've always been quite quick to reply as far as I remember.

After two weeks and several e-mails I still haven't received a reply from Bomo, perhaps they don't do business in the U.S. Does anyone know of anybody in the US or Canada who carry the Bomo journals?

I went through the Bomo Shop, choose what I wanted, clicked on "Buy", filled out the form and they got back to me in just a few days and that was at the beginning of December which is a very busy time for them.

Somebody earlier on, also mentioned Papyrus in Canada had them on display at one of their shops in Toronto, Yorkdale Mall I think.

It's nearing September and as I've been happy with my BomoArt diary through the year I've just ordered one for 2015. Balloon motif (I love that one) with a dark olive spine. Also they're making Kindle covers now and as mine is starting to fall apart at the edges (the cover, not the Kindle) I guess the timing for a new one is excellent.

The cases have leather spines and printed covers like their notebooks, but also leather covered corners for protection and an elastic closure. I should receive it in a few weeks and will review then.

The balloons are off the chart and so many spine options that you can make it look for all practical purposes custom. And they are great to work with. Thank you for putting us all onto them.

Yes, they are very beautiful, not mention they really great to withstand fountain pen inks, even with 1.5 italic nib. Recently brought two new. One custom made, one standard line.

What are their shipping rates to overseas?

Wish I'd seen this earlier :/ ... just had my little niece(*) visit us a couple of weeks ago

(*) and by "little" I mean almost 30, well accomplished and independent. Time has a way of slipping away.

I just ordered a few things from them, and I believe the way they work is to take your order, tell you how long it will take to make the order, then, I believe, you will be billed for product and shipping. I hope that the latter is reasonable. The prices on the notebooks etc are certainly reasonable. They are handmade. A number of videos on their site are very interesting and they are featured on a Monocle video which was pretty cool

I ordered one Friday evening. I'm really astonished by the array of cover options for the price.

They just got back to me about my order, with prices and fees for shipping and currency. I do not think that the price for shipping to the US from Hungary was too high, especially given that we bought a couple of gifts (recipe books, Diary 2015 et al), which probably added a bit of weight. it is not cheap to ship paper. They have been very gracious. Btw, if you buy their 2015 planner, they offer to give you, yes give, one of their left over 2014 diaries. Seems like great people to work with. Thanks to the OP for the heads-up.

What happens when the paper meets some serious ink flow?

Nothing much, apparently.

I'm optimistic it will serve me well through 2015.
