3-4 Pen Cases ~$50?

Can anyone recommend a good quality 3 or 4 pen case around 50 dollars? I'm not really a fan of a zip-case, so I'm not looking for a hard shell with 3 loops on the inside. I've been looking at Aston Leather and Fraklin Christoph (which is more appealing to me, considering it is $15 dollars cheaper than the former), but I wanted a couple of other opinions.

If only I could afford the beautiful Van Der Spek cases...

Would these be of interest?

Available from ebay seller Streetfair @ $14.97 for 3 pen case, and $18.97 for 4 pen case.

Also available from Rosetta Pens, where the 4 pen case is reduced to $14.97.

I have the 4 pen case and it seems very hard wearing, and likely to last a long time.

I've came across the Rosetta cases in the past, but they always seemed like they weren't durable enough. The case will most likely be in my pocket or the front pocket of my backpack, so it will need to give the pens a bit of support from possible weight stress. I may end up purchasing one just to see what the quality is and as a possible backup, but I had different things in mind.

Pen-Paradise in Germany has some nice 3-pen cases here:

If you don't want one in Baystate Blue, there is also black, navy, bordeaux and lime green (I wrote and asked). Just specify in the Paypal note section which colour you want. I got a black one, should be here any day now. They're from a well-reknowned leather company in Germany.

Hmm, as I had mentioned, I'm not really a fan of the zip around, but that doesn't look too bad. I'll give it some thought. Thanks!

+1 for the Pelikan cases. I have 2 3-pen cases, one in all black, the other black with a green front strap. Only issues I've had is if you have a really oversized pen, it might fit in the case, but it might take up the adjacent slot as well. There are full length dividers between the slots so the pens don't knock together. The dividers are only attached to the back, so they move freely in the front to accomodate a large pen next to a small pen. The one I take to work holds a Pelikan M800, an M600, and a Conway Stewart Belliver. Had it about a month and so far, I'm very happy.

I got mine from Fahrney's online and they offer embossing of initials or whatever you like.

I also have a CS Winston that can fit in the Pelikan cases, but it was kind of pushing the limits a bit. So I got a Franklin Christof one pen case for it and it fits in very nicely.

A bit of an update:

I decided to get a Rosetta pen case until I was willing to drop a bit more money on a nicer case. It has actually worked out very well! Granted it took a bit of effort at first to get my larger pens in the slots, but after a small amount of time, the leather has stretched enough where I can easily slip in my Lamy without issue. However, I may have to go for a larger case if I'm going to purchase a Visconti Homo Sapiens in the future, as I don't think it will fit in this. I'll certainly keep a Pelikan 3 pen case in mind, as they are a fair price and seem to be very good quality.

I know you already got your case, but for future reference Goulet Pens has SulaJane and Earl five pen wraps, in several cool colors, for under $50.

  • 4 weeks later...

I was browsing this morning trying to find a new 4 pen case. I tried many of the suggested links as well as my own search. Sadly, none of what was offered come close to the English made case I got from Levenger a dozen or so years ago. This semi-hard leather case is not only lined, but there are actual compartments for each of my 4 Mont Blancs.

Does anyone know where I might get a new one? Is such quality still available? Here's what it looks like:

I have one of these Levenger cases, except in black.
