Rotring 600

Hi guys, I'm relatively new to fountain pens but yesterday I just received a Rotring 600 fountain pen with gold trim! It writes very well, but there are two problems. First, it looks like the finish is missing. I don't mean brassing but literally it looks as if someone took acid to it or something. Also, it's missing the red Rotring logo by the cap. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

I guess the previous owner wish to have the old , beloved, and missed model of the Rotring 600 and tryed that chemistry process with this pen. Absurd.

Yea :/ does anyone know where I can get the rotring "red ring?"

Start with a visit to the Rotring corporate web site, look for parts or service contacts and drop them a note, include a photo.

I ride a recumbent, I play go, I use Macintosh so of course I use a fountain pen.

Hard to visualize, can you post a picture of the pen?

Thats quite a problem to get the red ring alone because the gold version uses a slighter thicker one than the normal one. A new cap, if you find someone who sells one, will be around 80 dollars.
