Pelikan Edelstein Mandarin

Another bright orange. I've picked up a few lately. This one really does remind me of mandarin oranges. Flow is wet. Has a traditional feel. A bit like an Iroshizuku ink, which I guess is appropriate considering both their premium placements.

 

Honestly, I like Yu yake better for flow. Operation Overlord Orange has more water resistance. And I'm a big fan of Apache Sunset with more shading. That's my personal preference. But I do like all of these oranges color-wise.

I'm a little iffy on this color. I doubt it will be fade resistant at all. (Please send me a written sample so I can include it in next year's fade test). If you really want an eye popping ink..... Akkerman!

It's a nice bright orange, but it did not play well for me in a flex nib.

Diamine Blaze Orange is another choice for some more pop (it even has a little fade resistance), J Herbin Orange Indien for delicate elegance.

 

But back to the ink in question: I really like the colour; I just can't think of any use for it....

I like the Mandarin of the Edelstein collection. Maybe it´s from my home-country a little bit more It´s great for broad nibs, with a F or EF it´s just shiny for me, but with the broad ones it gets some really nice shading.

So how do you get Akkerman here in the US???

Right now, Akkerman inks can be had at Vaness Pens, and a few other retailers. Otherwise, you have to get in on a Group buy.

Out of my six Edelstein inks this is the most fade resistant. A bit surprising.

Really? That's cool. The MB oranges have held up better in my tests than the Diamine oranges. Edelstein Tourmaline is a super fader.
