Hemingway And 139

The Hemingway's prices remain always on the high side from 2900 to 3200€ sometimes a little bit more

I don't think so... I see lot of auctions all under 2.000 euro in Europe, like this:

And in some case under 1.500 euro also but, from unknow ebay-sellers!

Usually there are some differences in the prices between used pens (sometimes without box) and pens in mint condition...

When Georges Zaslavsky speaks about a range from 2900 to 3200 € the pens are NOS; the pen sold by erfobay at € 1885 is used.

Correct :)

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

gary lehrer or max schrage or tom westerich are the sources where to buy one but count 3500 to 5000$ for one in very good condition

Don't forget Francis " Fountainbel " Goossens.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread again. I never tire of seeing photos of the 139 or Hemingway.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if MB produced a permanent commemorative line inspired by the old flat tops and bow-tie clips? I can dream.…

Thanks again, Daniele, for the wonderful photos.

He doesn't sell them as much as the other vendors I mentionned, he mostly repairs them

There was a used Hemingway at the Dallas show for around $750-1000 with the box. Good shape too.

Interesting - any idea who the vendor was? :)

I'm the complete opposite. I find the Hemingway to be the dullest pen in my collection. If it were not for the fact that I needed it to complete my collection I would never have bought it.

I know though that I am in the minority with these thoughts though, but to me things improve over time and I don't like living in the past and rarely buy into nostalgia.

My Collection: Montblanc Writers Edition: Hemingway, Christie, Wilde, Voltaire, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Poe, Proust, Schiller, Dickens, Fitzgerald (set), Verne, Kafka, Cervantes, Woolf, Faulkner, Shaw, Mann, Twain, Collodi, Swift, Balzac, Defoe, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Saint-Exupery, Homer & Kipling. Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

Wait for it...

If they continue with the current Heritage series they even might arrive some day at those wonderful flattops - in 20 years or so :-)

Greetings,

Michael
