Ebay Confusion Of Snorkel And Tip-Dip

I see lots of confused sellers who advertise Tip-Dip pens (Cadet and Craftsman) as Snorkels and rarely even the other way around (real Snorkels as Tip-Dips). Now I understand why this always happens. The Sheaffer instruction sheet combines both names on it because the filling procedure is similar and the sellers think the sheet refers to a single pen. I wonder why Sheaffer didn't just split the instructions in two and give the Tip-Dip and Snorkel customers their own sheet. Of course, they didn't realize the trouble they'd cause on Ebay 50-60 years later...

Ebay is confused about many things....

It just shows the sellers can't read or can't comprehend what is written.

It clearly states Snorkel.... AND ... Tip Dip

 

So the instructions apply to both pens.

Also, remember that many sellers have never seen either pen before (let alone a fountain pen, probably) so doesn't know the difference.

I do not rely on the description for many pens.

I have to visually identify the pen.

 

The same mistake is made with the Parker 180 and Classic.

I regularly see Classics labeled as the more expensive 180s.

Granted they look similar, as the Classic is the decendent of the 180. But the nibs are totally different.

 

I've also seen other miss-labeling.

 

When I ask about nib size, some don't even know what a nib is.
