My First Vintage "fake" Montblanc....

Based on the above topics, I humbly retract my comment about vintage fakes not making sense - the counterfeiters only have to sell a few pens at 700 Euros to cover their costs, especially if they're sourcing old pens for parts. Maybe we need to expand our 'how to spot a fake' to include modern AND vintage...

One question: Francis' pen looks like it has a vintage MB nib. Is this a fake MB as well?

Why would you like to buy a FAKE ?! :yikes:

... it's a fake ...

... the star looks awful ...
and (minor point) the clip obviously does not fit to the design of the pen ..

Very interesting story! Thanks for sharing Francis. And Max, your customer paid €700 -- ouch!

Thanks to all the experts who commented on this thread. I will definitely be careful when I choose my next vintage MB.

This is exactly the reason that I only buy my vintage MB's from Max, Tom, Lutz and Osman.
