Interesting color. On my screen it comes across as a brownish red, and makes me think of Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses (but without the black undertone). I can't tell, though -- what color would you say the sheen comes across as to you? I'm seeing a goldish-brown.

Thanks for the review.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I like the vintage tones this ink seems to project. Though...the scans show more brown than I was expecting. I hope it's not too much---brownish red reminds me too much of, uh, dried blood, which is not pleasant. Good for vampire correspondence, perhaps?

Sheen junkie, flex nib enthusiast, and all-around lover of fountain pens...

Strauss from the Music Set is VERY dried-blood-ish; but in a wet pen it's a really lovely writer and actually has a very beautiful finish. (It's also good for leaving threatening notes for your colleagues in.) This is much less...biological looking than Strauss. It looks awfully similar to Red Dragon, though.

Yes agree with you, it goes down like Red Dragon and changes to this rich red-brown. I actually saw a chocolate rose at the local nursery this colour. Wild. Have no exp of NBSIER. As for sheen, more green-gold vs brown. I am in the process of reshooting samples for sheens. Bear with me and I will upload as soon as I get what I want from the camera.

:lticaptd: not vampire love notes, I promise. No think vintage - a gorgeous port, or that rich, red of the Tudors. It isn't dried blood, it actually has a really pleasant appearance.

Agree about Strauss on both counts. This isn't like Red Dragon. I sat with this one for a long, long time exploring similarities before putting the review online. This is much deeper that Dragon pr Monaco as the comparisons show. It is a unique colour.
