Anyone With Luck Or Knowhow Turning Lamy Cp1 Into A Fine-Liner?

Recommended Posts

hi guys, reaching out for a little help.

my wife recently got me a Lamy black CP1 because of its look and feel, however, i'm really not a fountain pen type.

i have recently tried the Schmidt 6040 fine liner and loved it!

wondering if anyone can shed some insight on how to get a part to replace the fountain pen tip so it can take a fine-liner, and if there might be a fine-liner similarly to the Schmidt 6040 (6040 is too long)?

thank you!

If you are looking for fineliners, try Steadtler: http://www.staedtler.com/en/products/ink-writing-instruments/fineliners/triplus-fineliner-334-triangular-fineliner/

They are excellent on cheap paper like copier paper too. These are felt tipped ones, though and not good on rough paper.

About your Lamy CP1, why not give yourself sometime to get used to it? It is a good pen and a gift from your wife :)

Hi,

Welcome! I don't think there is an easy way to convert the pen into a fine liner. What if you try using the pen for a week and see what you think?

There are a lot of good fine liners although they may not all look as nice. I have the Staedtler triplus ones, but there is also Stabilo. Pilot also makes some. My mom used to like the Pilot ones, but for the past years, she uses a Pilot fountain pen instead. She says her fountain pen is "Finer and smoother and doesn't dry up." There are also the Sakura Pigma Micros that seem quite nice too. There is also a Montblanc fine liner that is based on the Schmidt ones (they buy custom refills from Schmidt for their pens).
