Handmade Fountain Pen & Stationery

Handmade fountain pens and stationery are made by Motoshi Kazuno at Stylo Art Karuizawa. He is a pen maker as well as a wood worker living in the north of Karuizawa in Japan. Most of his pens are made by natural wood such as ebony, rosewood, cocobolo, snake wood etc. All of wooden parts are finished with oil and wax. Because of being handmade, the designs and patterns are same but each is unique. Each is designed to take full advantage of their grains. He fine nibs before shipping. :)

Hi Virtu,

For me, this is the first time to see this shop.

The fountain pen shops you inform us are always fascinating.

Thank you as usual!

Thanks, JJ51. Stylo-art is well known throughout Japan. As far as we can tell, most of the Japanese fountain pen users know the shop a lot because of the beautiful wooden stationery. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say Stylo-art is a prestige fountain pen shop in Japan. :)

Do you know where Stylo-art gets their nibs? I'm having trouble finding out, forgive me if it says and/or you keep having to answer this :P

When you order the fountain pen at Stylo-art, you can choose 4 kinds of nibs. Pilot or Platinum or Sailor or Bock (http://www.peter-bock.com/content). For more information, please contact Stylo-art by e-mail. :)

Thank you so much for the comments, icevic, josephchow42 and symphony. We Japanese call hot springs "ONSEN". An ONSEN is a mineral hot-spring spa which is said to have healing and health promoting properties. At HOSHINOYA, you can watch the snow fall while taking a bath in the outdoor hot springs. :)

I've been using Mr. Yoshino's notebooks almost exclusively for the past year. They are absolutely phenomenal.

My favourite is the 288, however I find the 336 more practical. In scaling it up, however, something has been lost in the delicacy of proportion...

Too many pens; too little writing.
