NO WONDER you wanted to share her photos - she is ADORABLE - but then, her Dad is pretty darned cute himself! (Before you know it, she will be learning to write with a fountain pen of her own - hope you'll post THOSE pics too)

Thanks for welcoming me. xx, mgh

Virtuthe3rd and Mark,

Thanks for your replies. Since I have a few Pilot 14K F, SF, SFM, M nibs, and just the other day I lucked into a Platinum 3776 Century in "Medium" on Amazon for the Japanese going rate (and with a $75 Amazon gift card that I got for Christmas, I got the pen for $9.50 shipped!), I think it's about time I try out a B nib. Even though Sailor makes so many good options and I've heard good things about the H-MF nib, I need to vary my collection a bit.

To mghCoach4ADD, Mookli, sarahfar and Kevan,

After I got home and started my laptop up, I found I had so many messages filled with considerations from you guys. Thank you very much, my fellows. Now I feel really happy to be surrounded with compassionate friends! It's just as you say... my daughter "Himawari ( means Sunflower )" grows up so fast. So I have to take the photographs and frame them in my mind. B)

P.S. To Kevan,

H-MF is one of the Sailor's featured nibs. It's really fine but NEVER scratchy.

Thank you for your understanding toward Japanese traditional beauty, sarahfar and Zaphod. "Leica Store Kyoto" is not the information concerning fountain pens, however, I hope I can occasionally introduce Japanese craftsmanship ( from differing points of view ) to the readers of this topic. :vbg:

Thanks for the comment, JJ51. By the way, having been asked a delicate question about "how to take photographs in Japan" from a member of the FPN on this topic, I've responded to his question on this topic as well as on my YouTube channel ( I just made this video for it a few days ago!! ). If you're interested in photography, this might be informative to you in case you take photographs in Japan. ...Most Japanese take an attitude of permissiveness to people from abroad, though. :vbg:

Hi Kota, thanks for all of your videos, very enjoyable.

I have a question, on a few Japanese page I visited, such as this page from Fullhalter it seems that a point is made that the BB nib on the Pilot Custom 845 is more special? Not sure if I am reading it correctly but it seems like the remarks are that the 18k BB nib is longer and a more special grind?

thanks.

Hi. Thanks for asking me, zchen. Quite so. The pen points of Pilot Custom 845 B and BB nibs are much longer than those of Pilot regular B and BB nibs. If you examine them with a magnifying glass ( loupe ), you can see they only have unique - longer and well rounded - shapes. So, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that both of two nibs are definitely "SPECIAL". :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqCYef27hjg
